A scotch ale, with a powerful dose of hops and an abundance of malts.

dark chestnut, clear. malt-forward nose: wet bread crust, some munich and caramel sweetness and a mild grassy dark nut character. medium body, moderately rich, soft carbonation. chewy dates, nuts, caramel malt and some light peat. the best beer they offered but like the rest completely unremarkable.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2009 On tap at Stateline Brewery. Hazy reddish-brown color with a one finger off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet with caramel and citrusy hops and some roast. Flavor is not very sweet for the style caramel and roast, with a bitter blood orange hop finish. Medium body with a rough palate. Pretty average overall.
