On tap in a Toronto hotel. Looked like a lager. Tasted like they had at least tried to make it nice, some richness and hop character. But tasted a bit skunky even on tap, really lacking freshness. I bet the unfiltered is better.

Pours a pale yellow. Little to no head. Somewhat thin and watery. Aroma of corn. Also alcohol on the aroma. Also smells like, forgive me, piss. Flavor is malt and corn. Lots of cooked corn. Finishes very dry. Very light bodied.

From 500 ml can. Aroma: Very slight cereal with some ether notes and tiny meat accents. Not very impressive. Fading out rapidly. Appearance: Golden blond very clear. Very sparkling head, average thickness also fading out rapidly. No lacing. Taste: Malt accents are rapidly showing up but remain very discreet. also showing tiny notes of cereal and hay. At higher temperature sugars are revealing a little caramel. Finish is showing a lazy bitterness with no particular accent. Missing a bit of complexity. Mouth feel is thin with a lack of body. Balance is good though. Just drinkable. Not the best pilsner I’ve tasted.

Pours a clear gold with a fine white head. Aroma is nice and clean with some malt sweetness and a hint of fruit maybe. Flavour is smooth with grains and malt. Finish is completely balanced, not bitter and not sweet. Just a really nicely done pilsner.

Or brillant avec un petit col blanc. Arôme de malt et houblon du style pilsner. D’abord le goût est de malt, avec un amertume légèr qui apparaît dans la finale. Facile à boire.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2013 330 ml bottle from the Steam Whisle brewery in downtown Toronto. I?m not a fan of lagers or pilsners, but if I had to drink one of those styles, it would probably be Steam Whistle. Not an overly boozy taste, but it didn?t really have much to it. At least it wasn?t sour like Budweiser or Molson Canadian. No trace of any type of citrus and only the slightest trace of hops. The tour guide said that they would only ever make this beer, but I could only imagine how much greater the brewery could be if they make an IPA or some other sort of ale. Overall it was an OK beer, but nothing special at all.
