The best description I can give is that is like a slightly more hoppy Rolling rock. Not bad at all, miles better than Budweiser, Miller or Coors. Better than Labatt Blue. Overly expensive though.

It has a nice clear golden straw colour with frothy head. The aroma is hoppy and a little sweet. The taste is bitter with lots of hops present and is good. As well it is light with a bitter finish. I really like this pilsner and recommend it for those who enjoy pilsner beer. Much better on tap! Very nice aroma, what you would expect of a pilsner. Golden colour with a nice head that lasted throughout. A hint of bitterness at the end, very easy drinking beer. One of my favorite Pilsners and I am an Abbey Dubbel guy. Zymurgeist2 (26), San Francisco, California, USA

Nice golden-straw color with a pure white head that lingered.
I sense some hay in the nose - and well-rounded deep malts. I gets lots of grain with this beer and am surprisingly happy with the aroma.
This is a crisp pilsner that impresses me. True to style.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 17, 2009 distinctive aroma of hay and straw which many find offputting. I’m on the fence. Pours bright golden color, drinkable but has a very strong aftertaste. Good if there’s not much else around. decimator (51), Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2009 341ml bottle poured into a Pilsner glass. Poured a clear yellow with a 1/2 head. Left a thin cap and little lacing. Looks pretty average. Aroma has a good balance of grain sweetness and hop bitterness. Like the aroma the taste is a good balance of sweet malts and bitter hops. Not an aggressive or strong flavour but certainly better then most macro Lagers/Pilsners. Good carbonation, light texture and crisp finish. I could drink only this for hours. (And I have.) This is one brew that can regularly be found in my fridge. tpatrickr (4), Richmond, Virginia, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Let me begin by saying I am not a big pilsner fan. Steam Whistle is beautiful and crisp, whithout being painfully dry. A little rounder that most pilsners. Perfect picnic/ball game beer. rederic (1816), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2009 On tap at the brewery, bright honey gold color, with frothy white head, fresh cut hay and straw nose with a grainy, pale, plisner malt accent, and a floral hop spicy herbal aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp, fresh cut hay, faint honeyed pale, pilsner malt character with a nice flowery hop citrusy, grassy, saaz hoppiness, leading towards a clean, floral hop dry hoppy finish.
