UPDATED: OCT 10, 2012 8/3/12 "Crackling cider". Bottle from Astor. Served in a lowball glass.
Clear, glistening, golden body.
Faint mushy flesh, malic acid, musty white wine.
Taste is densely sweet & a touch saturated/oily. Moderately high carbonation & winey acidity keep the texture from getting sloppy. Dab of butter & vanilla. Leafy finish. Feels stronger then 7%. Okay, but too sweet.

picked this up at Astor Place wines - pour is initially very vigorous with a rocky white head that dissipates quickly and disappears. The pour is a clear gold. Nose is sharp and crisp with apples and floral notes. The body is crisp and pure; sweet fruit juices with a tart bite with some green apple and apple skin tannins that provide a nice balance. This is cider is toeing the line to being over-sweet but never crosses over - exactly where I want my cider to be. Finishes with a slightly sulfer, herbal note. Pairs well with cheddar.
