Commercial Description:
Extremely complex malt and oat flavor; sweet with nice chocolate and roast overtones. The addition of a healthy amount of brewers oats is detectable with a smooth, silky finish. This moderately hopped ale is a great choice for the majority of our dark beer lovers.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, oats, slight cream, and some lactose. Poured dark brown in color with a small, beige, head that diminished but lasted throughout around the edges and as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of small particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, slight cream, oats, and a hint of lactose. Medium body. Lightly dry, slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt, chocolate, and slight oat finish is lightly dry.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Malted chocolate, light lactose tones, some light roasted notes, a bit thin and bittersweet. Oddly something about it seems lightly paper y or soapy just didn’t fit quite. Oh well a decent ale.

22 oz. bottle from Rollinhard. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head and slight lacing. The aroma was moderately sweet with with dark fruits and a touch of roasted malt. The flavor is chocolate dipped dark fruits. I only picked up a slight amount of roast. The oatmeal brings a smoothness to this beer. Decent.

Black pour with tight brown head. Roasted malts, chocolate and some coffee. Flavor was sweeter than the nose, but with some good coffee and chocolate flavors.

Roast, chocolate and coffee in the aroma. This is an unassuming stout. Not overly heavy but certainly not light, it’s got a rich balance of roasted coffee and chocolate. A little carbonated, but mostly good.
