COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong, fruity, belgian-style trippel. Our aptly named Christmas Ale is based on the strong beers traditionally brewed by Belgium's trappist monasteries and has a light golden colour. Because of its high strength this beer has an intensely fruity palate. Up front it has a honeyish sweetness but the finish is dry and champagne-like. On tap until early January.

Brewed better than many,of their beers. Pours clear golden with some head and lacing. Aroma has slight bubblegum and a wisp of florals. Coriander or nutmeg or something in very light dose. Hard to detect much going on here. Finishes slightly sweet like sugar water. Tap at Alibi Room.

I don’t think I’ll buy this stuff again but it sure gets you drunk. Foam disappears pretty quickly. Has a "peachy" taste to it.

On tap.The staff gave me a tripel, must be this. I guess the style is very very basically an imperial wit but it can be so much more than that, with dark complexities and beaming hops and so on... here it was largely a simple wit with alcohol and pear notes. Pretty good, tasted fresh on tap, the best of the five I sampled, but something tells me I wouldn’t care for the bomber as much. I didn’t find it dry.

Lagerboy (672) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 22, 2013
Clear bright golden yellow, white foamy head disappears quickly. Fruity yeasty aroma. Fruity candy apple, Belgian yeasty taste, lightly malted, faint spices and corriander. Softly carbed, light bodied, lightly hopped. ABV, while high, is not overwelhming. Dry white vinaceous finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Draught at the brewpub, 10% ABV
Blond color, just a dark shade, with almost no head. Mild aroma, the flavor is stronger; both have a light corn and paper feeling; it’s also moderately sweet, with light fruity touch from the yeast, but the spicy character is basically missing; there is a trace of thyme.
Pleasant but simple.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2011 En fût à la Brasserie Steamworks à Vancouver. Couleur jaune assez clair. Arôme de levure et un peu de céréale. En bouche, levure, alcool, malt. Finale qui réchauffe. Bonne mais je trippe pas.

Draught at Steamworks Vancouver. Clear golden yellow with virtually no head. Aroma is floral, apricot, honey, yeast. Medium body, slightly sticky on the palate and a subtle bitterness in the finish. Flavour is bread, marmalade, hints of tropical fruit. A reasonable attempt at a Tripel.

Tap. Pale yellow. Almost no head. Green Apple scent. Yeasty green Apple and must flavour. Seems a little tired and dispiritted.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours hazy golden. Aroma and flavour of yeast, citrus and banana on the finish. Very nice tripel.

Tasted at Steamworks in Gasworks area of Vancouver. Tasted in 250ml quantity. Lets just say the tasting doesn’t pair well with the description. I was very disappointed with this one. Appearance is cloudy yellow, thought at first they served me a dinky portion of the heffeweizen. Medium to moderate white fluffy / bubbly head. Arom is soft with hints of pear and banana. Flavour is muted, no big fruit, malt, yeast or hoppy contingents. Fairly lack luster. Didn’t really pick up on the alcohol level either. Maybe it WAS the heffeweizen!.
