The Colorado Kölsch is a derivative of German Kölschs, which were created in response to the popular lager-based Pilsners being produced in the Czech Republic in the 1840s. That means it’s a light crisp ale with a hint of sweetness. And very refreshing

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Best before July 2009. Pours a clear pale straw color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is very nutty and earthy with light grass. Taste is pretty much the same... nutty, earthy with light fruity notes. A pretty odd one. Medium bodied,

Bottle Pours a light yellow with a large white head. Strong yeast aroma. Has a vey light taste. Lacks flavor and very watery/ Has a light body. Decent carbination. This one just lacks depth. Sarts out okay but there isn’t anything to back it up.

Draft at Denver Airport. Bright yellow with low dissipating head. Distant grainy and bready aroma. Crisp and wheaty, lightly bitter. Finishes very clean. So-so.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that lasts. The aroma is a strong clove and wheat. Good spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is very sweet malt with lemon and citrus. A decent kolsch from Steamworks.

650 ml. bottle Pours a thin head of long duration over a clear pale yellow body....nose of slight yeast and hops....tastes of mild hops and yeasts with a slight citrous lemony finish..... this is very nicely balanced....mouthfeel very light....but this should be a light crisp beer. It is well matched to its style.11/16/2008

Pours a light clear golden color with a big lasting white head in a kolsch style glass. Smell is minimal but would be grassy faint hops and lightly sweet malt. Taste is crisp, clean malt with a lightly sweet finish and subtle bitterness to balance. A bit of a lingering honey like malt sweetness, but overall a very friendly, non-offensive beer. Overpriced at nearly $5 a bomber for what it is, though.

Bottle. Low and quickly disappearing white head. Hazy yellow body. Powerful vanilla cinamon aroma. Flavor though mildly hopped with just a hint of the cinamon. High carbonation, short afteretaste.

A beautiful beer. Pours tame wth a small pure white head. Exhibits great bubbling and carbonation characteristics. Aroma is tempting and smells like a mild mix of grain, malt, hops, and American beer. Flavor is another story. Starts off ok, but turns incredibly sweet and full of sugar. Way too sweet for my tastes. Faint yeast notes, then the sugar just overpowers. The wheat malt tastes like is is well under-fermented. Sharp sweet finish.
