The Colorado Kölsch is a derivative of German Kölschs, which were created in response to the popular lager-based Pilsners being produced in the Czech Republic in the 1840s. That means it’s a light crisp ale with a hint of sweetness. And very refreshing

Very drinkable. A good, middle of the road kolsch with a great appearance.

Received in a contest from Free Beer Week. I am a fan of Kolsch’s but this one left me wanting. The malt flavor wasn’t as full as I would have liked and there was a metallic twinge throughout. Meh.

Very light beer in the German tradition. Poured from a can. Has a aroma of yeast and apples. Paid about 10 bucks for a six pack, so I expected a lot more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Niko’s with friends. Pour is clear straw with a frothy white head that quickly dissipated. Grainy, cereal, crackery, corn, grassy, and straw aroma. Taste is heavy grain, bread, skunky, grassy, corn, doughy, and honey with a lightly bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation. Bleh.

Somewhere: Pours golden with white head. Aroma is lightly applish and bready. Easy to drink. Light malty ale with the characteristics Kolsch aspects. Nothing offensive, but nothing memorable either.

Can at the tavern. Not very good. Crystal clear with a lack luster flavor. It was refreshing though and didn’t have any off flavors.

This is a bright and crisp Kolsch. Lately versions of this style have been a little too heavy for me. This really sparkles. Forceful grain notes give this a nice punch. Brewers Association dinner at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice. Paired with speck and melon it added a lovely note to the fruit.

Very little aroma, very low pilsner malt aroma. slight noble hop as it warms, no ester, no diacytl. Beer poors pale straw, very clear, and a thin white head that fades quickly. Light sweetness in the background, medium noble hop bitterness, with mineral water characteristics adding to the perception. Not tartness, which is the style. Palate has a light body, thin/smooth texture, medium high carbonation, finish is slightly bitter. Overall I’m not that impressed. Beer lacks complexity, tart notes, and reminds me of an American lager

Very easy drinking ..... As a kolsch should be. No noticeable off flavors. Super clear with a nice straw color. Same price as Coors banquet on draft. Great choice for an all day drinker.

Poured out of a bottle into a cup. Very light golden color. Head was initially large and dissipated while it was drank. Very smooth to drink.
