Commercial Description:
To honour the opening of our new cafe, we brewed a rich, chocolatey imperial stout. We then pulled 1200 double shots on our new La Marzocco espresso machine and added them straight into the conditioning tank. If you like stout and you like coffee, this brew has the best of both worlds.

Pours a jet black with a light ring of foam. Holy espresso, Batman! What a fantastic aroma! Very pungent! Tastes fantastic - espresso through and through. Chocolate covered espresso beans, milky too - a bit of latte in there. Nice and roasty. Thin body, but creamy with passable but minimal carbonation. What a true dessert beer, very nice!

On-tap at Gastown. This is now the Expresso Stout. chocolate colour, a little mocha head. Favourful though medium mouthfeel. Way too much coffee and coffee grains.

(Draught) Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival 2007 in Victoria on September 7th, 2007. Strong coffee aroma. Black with a yellow head. Mild tin flavour mingles with the potent coffee grounds. Very good.(8/4/7/3/15). Sampled again at the brewpub on March 11, 2008. This really is a wonderful beer. The nose has so many elements: mocha latte, espresso, vanilla bean and very alcoholic perfume. Flavour is full and powerful coffee with a decent vanilla base. Very little fault with this beer. (10/4/8/4/17).
