COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A generous portion of rolled oats and lots of black roasted barley give this beer a warm, roasted nose, and a distinct dryness that succumbs to waves of lingering satisfaction.

Aroma is burnt toast, dark chocolate, a little bit of earthiness. Medium bodied. The usual flavours. I found the amount of bitterness to be distracting. Okay.

Best one I tried here. Pours black with carpet head and lacing. Some initial cereal and honey oat. Watery consistently, thin palate and creamy texture.. Finishes with some but bitterness. On tap at brewpub.

Bomber. A bit of bread and chocolate in the nose, add a little coffee in the flavour, back to coffee in the finish, very very soft palate, thin (esp. for an oatmeal stout), and highly muted. This beer has very little going for it, except blaseity. Inoffensive, though.

Lagerboy (668) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 2, 2013
Steamworks Oatmeal Stout 650 ml bottle. Darkest brown, no hue. Foamy mocha head settles and fades quickly. Mild aroma of dark roasted chocolate malts. Bittersweet toasted dark chocolate malt taste and not much else. Somewhat thin and easy to drink. Softly carbed, light-medium bodied, low hopped. Light bitter finish. S’okay. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

Noir, très peu de mousse. L’arôme de malt toasté. Carbonation moyenne. Goût de malt. Je ne pouvait pas trouvé les notes du chocolat ou du café comme un bon stout d’avoine. Je l’ai trouvé très maigre.

Not a particularily memorable oatmeal stout and lacking complexity. Body is dark and modest head, sweet finish. Rather straight ahead, which is fine, but certainly nothing rare and unique.

Draught in a snifter at Steamworks in Gastown. Nice creamy tan head. The color is almost black, as it should be. So far I’m not getting a whole lot of flavor. It may need to warm up a bit...and that seems to be the case. The roasted malts are coming through now. A very decent stout, but not great.

Draught at the brewpub. Oct. 4. Pours a dark ruby-brown with an average size lasting creamy beige head. Some lacing on the glass. Aroma has lots of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and light leafy hops. Flavour of milk chocolate, light roasted malt and coffee. Dry finish. Average bodied. A simple but enjoyable Stout.
