Loose thin head with a black body. Aroma is espresso, chocolate, mocha. Taste is very coffee oriented, with oatmeal, and light mollases.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 holdenn (2023) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2006
On tap at Steamworks: Dark with a creamy head that lasts. Oat and malt aromas. Light to medium creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is chocolate, oats, and roastedness with an overly bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 solidfunk (1789) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2013
Best one I tried here. Pours black with carpet head and lacing. Some initial cereal and honey oat. Watery consistently, thin palate and creamy texture.. Finishes with some but bitterness. On tap at brewpub.

Very dark but not too much head. Aroma was of roasted coffee but the flavour was only minimal and thin. Aftertaste was nothing special and I was left wanting more of the Oatmeal flavour that you get from say a Samuel Smiths.

Not a particularily memorable oatmeal stout and lacking complexity. Body is dark and modest head, sweet finish. Rather straight ahead, which is fine, but certainly nothing rare and unique.

Not the stout it claims to be, but the dryness saves it. This is like something The Ram would make. Pours (on nitro) a transparent ruddy brown, with a dense, creamy head. Plenty of hops balance out what would otherwise have been too sweet. Dilute and watery mouthfeel, due at least in part to the nitro. Slightly roasty, mostly malty, and the fizz keeps it lively, even on nitro. It tastes a lot lighter than it looks, and it doesn’t look that dark. Hence the reference to The Ram.
