COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An ale deep auburn in colour, we use a blend of Munich, caramel and chocolate malts to create a rich malty palate with a lingering dry chocolatiness.

Blah.

On tap.Not so bad, very dusty, American style brown. Lacks the "sweet nut" oomph as it’s dry, a bit of coffee but yeah apparently I’m a fan of dusty nuts.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2012 Meh... Maybe it was just that it came to me too cold, but this was bland. It had a small roast smell; was ruddy red in colour; mid-medium bodied; nutty-flavoured with decent malt and a hint of something sour; dry, unsettling finish. Bartender told me it was their most popular beer. It’s not their best.

Draught at the brewpub
Chestnut color, with small head. Mild aroma, with some roasted nuts. Good combination of caramel, roasted malt, roasted nuts, although the flavor is mild; the mouthfeel is dry and lean; correct bitterness. Pleasant.

Pint on tap at the brewpub pours a brown color with a finger of off-white head that leaves a little bit of lacing on side of glass. Aroma is light toasted malts and a trace of nuts. Taste is light caramel sweetness with some nuttiness and a bit of chocolate and a light hoppy bitter finish. A pretty decent brown ale with a medium body and light carbonation. Enjoyable and easy to drink.

Has an aroma of nice sweetness and malts. Looks good with a brown body and with a fat creamy head. Flavour is a decent wood and nut flavour but it’s highly simplified. Weak mouthfeel as well. It’s a reliable but predictable brew.
