Plenty of British Crystal malt in the grist lends this ale its rich color, its caramel maltiness, and adds the occasional whiff of toffee to the nose. An addition of American and German hops to the kettle at the end of the boil is used to suffuse our Pale Ale with a gently spicy hop finish.

Can bought @ Berlin Braufest 2015.

500 ml can as "Steamworks Pale Ale" bought at Craft Bier Fest Wien Tasting Sessions.
Clear, golden body, with a medium, frothy, lacing, off-white head.
Quite light aroma of grapefruit, flowers, candy, some peach, some pine, some soap.
Taste follows this, also quite light, watery, with a bit more biscuit malts.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes soft, medium bitter, zesty, piney, a bit sweet malty.

Quite boring. Much too light, watery. The hops are propably just noticeable, because the malt body is also pretty light. Not sure if the can is too old, or the beer itself is just brewed that thin.

Can. Hazy golden body with nice white head. Aroma is fruity and malty with hints of pines. Taste is also caramel malts with some citrus. Aftertaste is nice balanced between hop bitterness and malt sweetness. Nice one. There must have been a difference between the cans and the bottles.

Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, resin and rich caramel malts. Taste is a nice balance between caramel malts, light toffee and citrus hops. Bit of pine flavor and light grapefruit too, bitterness lasts throughout and is never astringent. Just the way an APA should be.

(Rating #6121)

Pours a quick disappearing head no lacing. Heavy citrus at the start and light malt with slight grassy bits. It’s ok

Not too shabby. A bit boring and run of the mill but has a nice crisp hop and toasted cara malt backbone. The finish has a moderate bitterness and a flavour profile of honey sweetness and light zesty citrus. Overall, a good APA.
