JK (2479), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Apr 13, 2008 Considerably better than their kolsch. Light orange color. Hop aroma with citrus, some orange. Sweet malt body. Bitter with citrus. Good. Better than average.
esjaygee (808), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 20, 2008 Dark amber with a white head. Aroma of mild citrus and sweet malt. Taste of citrus hops, mild sweet malt, kind of bland and light tasting. Mild bitter finish. hughie (2254), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Sep 7, 2008 Bottle from BSF Bar at GBBF ’08. Old gold with a white head. Sweet malt aroma, but there’s a background citrus, leathery, sweaty element too that marks this out as a different type of beer. Piney hops in the taste, very restrained, with soap and maybe some fruit, possibly pear. Not quite a clasic, but delivering plenty of interest and enjoyment. goldbrew (99), USA Sep 3, 2008 More chewy than many IPAs I’ve encountered. Nice fruit rind aroma and malty mouthfeel. Solid drop-off-a-cliff bitter hop finish as the style dictates. Rich copper hue makes this a eye-pleasing beer in the glass. Packed a wallop for just one bottle. travita (762), Lewisville, Texas, USA Sep 3, 2008 Deep copper colored and clear with a a decent white lacing head. Smell is some pale malts and some light hops. Good balance there and in the taste. Taste is a malts and hops. Ughsmash (3071), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottled. Poured clear medium golden with a short, fizzy dusting of white head. The aroma picked up medium-skinned fruits upfront with berries and non-descript pale malts behind.. well-balanced presentation. The flavor had toffee and pale malts at the core with layers of juicy light fruits and mild grassy bitterness surrounding.. finished with more of the fruit and a mild, refreshing bitterness. Medium-bodied and thicker at times on the palate.. dry and grainy on the back.. solid overall.
