COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Kölsch isn’t something you see every day so we thought we’d give it a go! “Imperialising” beer is a US fad where normal beers have their ABV (and also hop rate) ramped up which is what we did to our Ersatz Kölsch. We used only US Crystal hops which, being relatives of both Cascade and Hersbrucker, give a noble hop flavour with overtones of tangerines and orange zest.

Hand bottled by Gazza (RBESGG2011, Grand Tasting)
Raw hop aroma, very pungent. A bit lagery in the body. Refreshing hops in the taste, but a bit boring. I don’t see the problem to which this beer is the solution.
