COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The two eleven mark, based on the medieval symbol for steel, appears only on Steel Reserve(R) High Gravity lager. We use nearly twice the ingredients of many normal lagers & brew for over twice as long as many quality beers.

24 oz. can served in shaker from Gracy Food Mart- poured a transparent lightened yellow with a tint of orange (like piss), lively medium carbonation, one finger white head became a white film upon the lliquid surface, but to it’s credit, it did lace. Aroma of corn and sugar. Hits the mouth with a light body, over flowing sweetness throughout, corn from the backend of the start to the finish, crisp finish that isn’t biting like some malties. No booze detected either. Hey, not bad for a malty, and I damn near grabbed one of the evil empire beers (ABiNbev) instead of this. Shame on me.... SHAME!!!

Well had to do it. Classic for old school brew pounding. Not much smell other than metallic and malt. Flavor is classic malt liquor with a bread and malt taste. Not for the faint hearted,

Can from a gas station. Pours a super transparent golden with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma of malts. Taste of watered down malts.

24oz can. Pours a clear golden color with a decent head thatfades quickly. Aroma is sweet with grain. Taste is similar with a candy sweetness and grass. Mild bitterness and a sweet sticky finish. Light body, smooth and much too sweet. I guess the sweetness is there to try and hide the ABV.

40 ounce bottle picked up in jest and then poured into a pilsener glass. Pours a translucent copper with a frothy white head of foam. Smells grainy and sweet with some grassy qualities. Despite the clear bottle, it has escaped getting skunked somehow. Taste is sweet and a little grassy. Not a whole lot to complain about, it just isn’t really my thing. Big body with medium carbonation.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 STEEL RESERVE W/ A LIME - There are two kinds of beer drinking - serious craft brew joint visits (tour de beir) and everyday slogging. Corona (for example) strongly suggests a lime in the mix. OK - if we are masking the critical factors with lime, then all bets are off. Are we "drinquing bier" or drinkin’? If the answer is #2, then relax, save the money, drop in a lime and ENJOY. With the addition of a lime, they all taste good. So - if I’m droppin’ in a lime do I wanna’ pay $9.00 or $3.88? I’ve been drinking beer since Coors was only available in Colorado. Steel Reserve & lime is as good as any beer with lime. Save the money & get the buzz ,-\

22 FL OZ ($2.29) tastes like a metal can. very nasty beer only up side is the high proofage. good if you’re setting off to get drunk on a budget.

Much malted grain, likely including others than barley, some hops, yeast and water - then let ferment. What can be wrong? Deviation from German law is likely that other grains may be included, but this is not Germany. Regardless, this is an US interpretation close to German "Starkbier" (strong-beer), and nothing wrong with it. Remember, beer is "liquid bread" in Germany, not a luxury article. As such it is unpretentious, simple and good. Liked it.

Vigorous pour, 3 finger head crimson orange head. Nose is weak with a touch of honey. Very sweet, honey and rice with a touch if mango and papaya.

24 oz. can. Clear gold, no head. Aroma is a weak hint of lager yeast.

How many other beer nerds have rated this? The answer: to many.

Why did I waste $2.45 on this can? I feel like a tool and you should to if you feel like you need to rate this dumb shit. Yep....

Transfer from BA review on 3-14-12 - Poured from can into pint glass Appearance- Pours a medium golden color with a thin white head. The head fades to give moderate lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – Very mild. I only pick up fait hints of rice and some paper aromas. Taste- Very surprising taste. It has a biscuit and cereal body with corn mixed in. While many claim it sweet, I disagree; in comparison the many malt liquors it is much drier. The tastes are not to astringent and somewhat smooth. At the end the alcohol really comes into play, warming the mouth, but leaving it with a very strong boozy taste; almost like you get from a shot of cheaper run. Actually, its not really that off putting. Mouthfeel – For an 8% abv., the mouthfeel is quite light. The carbonation is a little bit above medium. The alcohol at the end creates a very dry feel in the mouth. Overall – For the price I paid for this brew ($1.50 for 24 oz.an) it gives you a great bargain. While by no means the tastiest beer out there, it wasn’t awful and did give a very nice warming feel. On of the best stronger malt liquors out there.
