Okay... Bottom line I had tried the original and found this while on vacation in Florida. I was at a middle of no where gas station by the hotel and it was either this, Pabst or Miller Light... I made the wrong choice although due to the higher alcohol content it did make up for their not being a liquor store around when my wife and I wanted to have a few shots while on vacation, but that is really about all I CAN SY ABOUT IT OTHER THAN... If you are broke, desperate or like me in the middle of Gods country and have limited choices and no liquor store, have at it.

gold pour with a white head. nose is light fruit, sweet malts, yeast, and crisp. easy on the palate, heavy malt flavor, backed with sweet fruits, very easy to drink, alcohol is hidden as well.

Can. Pours gold with soapy white head. Not much to say about aroma. Flavor is somewhat sweet malt with a pleasant grainy character with a balanced subtle hop in the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium body with very high, fizzy carbonation. Overall, I was a bit shocked. I was ready to slam this beer in rating it but I canít.....

24oz can, black. Orange pour, hazy, lots of floaties (old can?). Sweet aroma, some diesel. Very sweet flavor, some golden raisin. Lots of burn. Close to an Abbey Tripel, minus the standards.

Malt liquor....pours clear gold with a decent foamy white head. Nose is generic sweetness. Surprisingly unoffensive in flavor, but still mostly tasteless. Itís what you expect it to be when you buy it: cheap booze.

narna was late from work so i decided that lazy hag aint getting my last reserve. now see, this aint that sissy kind you are used to drinking. this here is the tripple export. which means is is way better! anyways, she came home and i had me about 3 of these tall boys and i had a right mean streak going. but you cant ignore the booze when its talking to you, so i let the old lady have it. real good too. damn near had to get her stitches. so this is a good beer.

Post-Malt Liquor Appreciation Day 2011; keeping the good times rolling; 24 oz. pounder; crystal clear dark gold; foamy white head; creamed corn, white sugar, toasted honey malt; has a syrupy honey quality to it; sticky mouthfeel with stale rice and some metallic, chemical notes; not too bad, but more chemically than others sampled recently

A: The pour is a crystal clear yellow color with a short lived but initially fluffy white head.
S: Oh yeah, sweet corn, rice, and apple juice all the way on this bad boy. A bit of a grain/malt aroma too, which was surprising.
T: Grain husks, corn, rice, and overly sweet apples. Some extra high fructose corn syrup for good measure, too. Maybe a bit of alcohol, too.
M: The mouthfeel is pretty much what you expect for a malt liquor: thin and fizzy.
D: Surprisingly, not as awful as I was anticipating (given Steel Reserveís infamous reputation). Iíd still rather have some Stack or Haffenreffer Private Stock, son.
