2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Don’t hate that I am a ticker, hey it was $1.69. 24 ounce can. Dark purple with a lighter shade of purple head that is noisy and fizzy. They could have called this "Barney." Oh come on, did you expect a serious rate? The aroma is more grape but some berry, too. It is Kool Ade grape powder along with something odd (whodathunkit?!). This is grape Kool Ade meets one of the Ritas. Heavy on the grape. It is dangerous stuff, really. Almost like drinking the kids drink but with a wallop behind it. To be honest it is pretty good. No taste of alcohol. This is actually not bad.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

Pours a purple color. Purple head. Neato. But no points for dying stuff to make it colorful. No head retention, no retention.
Smells like grape whatever. Grape soda, grape jelly, grape gum....no real blackberry flavor that I can find. No malts, or hops, but I guess there are none. Why do anything fancy when you’re gonna hide it behind artificial flavors. Still, smells good.
Taste is very sweet, a touch bitter. Or maybe it’s the alcohol in it. Tastes okay. Too artificial. Leaves a film in my mouth.
Mouthfeel is heavy and full. Easy drinking, but too heavy to be sessionable. There might be a little metallic taste in there.
Overall, it’s actually pretty good. It has lots of flaws. But it’s flavorful and high enough in alcohol that you’ll forget about anything else. I might recommend it. I don’t know that I would buy this again, but I’d try a different flavor of the Alloy Series.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
From the 25 oz. can with an expiration date of Sept 19, 2016. It pours purple with a purple head. The head fades fast. Any kind of toasted grain or grassy hop sensations are drowning in the aroma of blackberry juice or jam. The body is smoother than its standard older brother so I will give it that. The taste is more abundantly sweet with blackberry juice but there is just a slight bready malt character underneath with a carbonated finish. You could pound one of these down quickly as a fruit drink but then your head would hate you later.

0.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Aroma of berry flavored cough drops, booze, and gut rot. Taste of bad bitter syrup, some moldy berries that have been previously frozen, and possibly of rat poison. The palate is residual metalic

Holy Christ. Steel Reserve makes wine coolers now? Sickening blackberry aroma that is mixed with cheap booze. I nearly got sick off of this "beer." Booze was up front and in a way that it reminded me of the stinking drunks back home in Hyannis. I’m sure if you tossed them one of these they would owe you a "life debt." Sipping this also reminded me of that one guy, you know the one’ the one who always says that you should definitely try this, but going in you know that it would really suck. This and that strawberry margarita are the two worst things to pass my lips. There should be a Geneva Convention regarding bad beer. Monuments will be erected in memory of those who have suffered drinking bad beers. The monuments shall be inscribed "NEVER AGAIN."

If you like wine coolers/flavored malt beverages, TRY IT!! If you like BEER, you probably won’t like it. I’ve tried a lot of different malt beverages and this one takes the cake!! Easy drinking... must be careful as it is 8%abv. Can’t taste alcohol at all! I’m a fan of amber ales- spouse likes Bud Light but we both agree on this one!

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
24oz can...unnatural purple pour with an even more unnatural "purple" flavor. Tastes like they liquefied some grape hard candy and added some grain alcohol. Worst of the "Alloy" series.

24 oz can. Steel Reserve Alloy Series Blk Berry 211 is a deep purple colored clear fizzy liquid with almost no head. Nose is black raspberry candy. Taste is more of the same and quite sweet. Not exactly a beer per se, but a flavored alcoholic beverage and for what it’s worth, not a horrible option.
