3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
4 or 5 oz. pour, on tap at the brewery’s tap room. Consumed on 5-18-13. Pours dark brown with taupe head. Elements of milk chocolate, chocolate-covered raisin, bourbon, lemon, and toffee in the sharp aroma and palate. Medium body. Fizzy in the palate. Really quite good. A medium-sized beer that is as aromatic and flavorful as a very big beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Overall, this tasted to be a heavily barrel aged malted beer. As it warmed up it got much nicer to drink & smell. The dissent was hard to pick out of the beer though.

Awesome variant on this great regular dark ale. Aromas is big boozy bourbon and this tastes like a lighter BCBS that you could actually have more than one of in a night.

Draft. Pours a dark black/brown with minimal head. Nice aroma of coffee roast and a dark chocolate. Medium/heavy mouthfeel. Rich, chocolate, roast coffee but not overpowering. Some barrel notes. Drinks pretty smooth. Throw this sucker on nitro!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap a brewpub pours a dark black/brown with a small tan head. Aroma of rye whiskey and oak with bitter chocolate and oats. Taste of sweet vanilla, oak, and whiskey with a solid backing of dry bitter chocolate, oats, and, molasses. Nice balance of sweetness from the whiskey barrels and dry bitterness of the Dissent, works very well barrel-aged.
