Bottle. Pours a dark black with good head. Aroma is piney hops, roasted malts with a matching flavor. Awesome beer for the price.

April 20, 2013 - bottle shared by Brandon. Brown pour with nice white head that faded quickly and lacing. Aroma was piney hops and roasted malt. Taste was consistent with aroma and was nicely balanced.

Dark brown color with a very thin head. Perfume and pine-laden aroma. Very piney flavor. Some bergamot and roasted barley. Moderate to strong bitterness. Dry finish. Full body.

Bottle. Dark black pour, lasting lacing and an aroma of spruce and roasty malt. Flavor is also more roasty dark malt, roasty herbal spruce and finished very earthy/peaty. $5 a bomber? Totally worth it.

Bomber pours a dark brown/black with a large khaki head. Aroma is very hoppy pine citrus, with roasted and chocolate malts. Taste is a solid hop bitterness from start to finish with roasted chocolate malts underneath. Nice!

Had on tap at steel toe. Smell is hoppy with a hint of roasted malts. Flavor is predominitely hops, wouldn’t mind a bit more of the maltiness/bitterness from the roasted malts coming through on this one. One of my favorites from Steel Toe so far, would drink again.

Tap at Steel Toe. Dark murky amber pour with a frothy light beige head. Big roasted malts and citrus hops on the aroma. Full palate. Bold hops in the taste but still a pretty easy drinker. Great full-flavored brew.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2013 Pours a very dark, reddish-copper with minimal head. Aroma of roasted grains and hops. Flavor is dominated by the toasted grain, with strong hop undertones. This is a very nice (and very fresh) version of the black IPA.

On tap at the brewpub, nice dark cola color with a frothy tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is a lot of citrusy hops with some malty roast. Taste is some resin, nice pungent hops, little malt backbone, big bitter finish, great for the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
