Bottle shared during RBWG 2016. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy white head. The nose has ripe citrus, pale bread, tropical fruits, mango, melon, orange. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with rich citrus fruits, alcohol, mango, bitter grass, oily pine. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, resinous, with some orange, papaya, mango, more pine and grass. Pretty heavy hitting.

750mL bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is incredibly hoppy, lots of residual sugars, and a little butterscotch. Flavour brings out loads of resinous hops, balanced by a big portion of caramel malts. Lots of residual sugars, but somehow not cloying at all. There’s a perfumy floral quality to it that is situated well. Not the most easy drinking IIPA, but well-constructed nevertheless.

Bottle @ home. Clear dark red orange appearance with a light brown head. Somewhat resiny, sappy, piney, floral hoppy, a bit bready aroma. A bit grapefruity, soapy/floral hoppy, citrusy hoppy flavor with a warming, a bit boozy finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange gold with small frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong grapefruit, pine, dank. Medium mouth, pine, honey malt, resin finish, very good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow with gold hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges slowly and laces. Aroma has sweet and bitter citrus with a touch of pine and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has resin and bitter citrus with some sweet grains and a touch of caramel.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Muddy Waters. Apparently tap is better than bottle, per recent ratings. This is awesome - citrus hop, caramel, super rich - just killer.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2012 Bottle pour thanks to Aaron! Dark orange pour with off white head, aroma has notes of big caramel, toffee notes, hints of pine, grapefruit, candied lemon and biscuit. Taste is a nice note of biscuit and lemon, but pretty flat with notes of slight grapefruit and candied orange, finishing fairly bitter. Interesting, slight alcohol heat in the end.

Thanks to Bob for the 750mL bottle! Poured fiery reddish-orange with a creamy, well-retained beige head.. some lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up resiny orange, grapefruit, and peppery hops plus a little too much warm boozage over caramel and fruity notes.. came together well, and seemed somewhere between IIPA and barley wine. The flavor found warm fruits, caramel, and biscuity maltage at the core, with grapefruit, spicy pine, and earthy bitterness around.. alcohol amplified everything, and really warmed the throat and belly in the end.. like the nose, it was hot, but still good. Heavier-bodied with low-moderate, rolling carbonation on the palate.. big and spicy.. this was good, and could be interesting with more age on it.
