While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced weíll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

Growler from brewery. Clear orange-amber color. Tall whit foamy head with significant lacing. Brilliant fresh hop aroma. Very pleasant strong oily hop flavor with a solid malty backbone. Piney flavor more than anything. Floral, woody and a bit fruity. Very nice IPA.

Thanks to Steasy66 for the trade! Pours clear gold with a sticky white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Well balanced flavor, the bitterness is firm and only gives way to some dryness at the end of the finish.

Received in trade as an extra from Urbancaver, thanks for the opportunity Cam! Pours a crystal clear deep amber color with a good sized bone white head that persists forever and streaks the sides with lots of sticky lace. Earthy herbal minty piney citrus bread and caramel aromas abound, its definitely got that old school IPA feel to it. The flavor is caramel and sweet bready malt with enough earth and citrus to provide a fair amount of balance. A touch of ethanol reminds me this is 7%. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA, Iím glad I got to try it.

Dark gold pour with a large fluffy off white head. Excellent head retention and lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and orange zest, pine, light sweet/caramel malt notes lingering in the background. Flavor is more citrus and tropical fruit than the aroma suggests. Good grapefruit and orange flavors meet peach, papaya, mango and pineapple. Light sweetness from the malt lingers as well. The fruit is cut nicely by a strong (but not coarse) bitterness. Long bitter finish with a little sweetness. Medium body with perfect carbonation. This is a solid IPA that I wish I could have more frequently. Big thanks to kbutler1 for this beer!

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium white head and good lacing. Aroma is dominated by pine and spruce, with a bit of caramel as well. Flavor is piney, with a bit of lightly sweet caramel and citrus. Finish is medium bitter. A good effort.

Burly, big grapefruit, flower, resin, and weed aroma; dewy northwest wetness lingering on rocks and mossy plants; itís underlaid with a firm caramel and cotton candy sweetness, never too present. As it warms, thereís hints of brown sugar, orange zest, and peach cobbler; still, it keeps its floral-cannabis origins right up front.

It tastes strong and dank. Weed, flowers, white tea. Perfume-like and colorful. Itís constantly bold and bright, and the absence of strong dark tea crystal flavors or aggressive caramel sweetness allows its actually quite delicate hop flavor to really shine. The pureness of its floral character might put many others to shame.

Medium body, resiny, and dry. Lots of stone fruits late in the palate, and a texture of wildflower honey; finishes with a flood of grapefruit, and dry flowers. Brilliantly drinkable example.

651mL thanks to mattyb83. Pours clear orange with a larger, yellow, rockier head. Good, webby lace. Nice retention. Nose is small orange rind, candies, maple. Taste is thicker, nutty, sharply bitter, denser. Palate is very bitter, hoppy, dense nut skins and Brasil nut fat. Small orange juice and bitter kumquat and grapefruit rind. Quite nice. Aggressive. Not too sticky or nutty. Probably a pretty fresh bottle here. But pretty much your run-of-the-mill American IPA.

Bottle   Coppery golden, clear, fiery, large fluffy off-white head, nice lacing.   Somewhat of a dank citrusy nose, slightly sweet, a bit of pith and candied citrus peel.   Muted hoppiness on the tongue, sweet pith, some citrus peel.   Not a real bright example.   Not terribly malty either.   Its pithy, but somewhat sweet, without a lot of hop bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft sweet pithy finish.   Clean, not biting, sweeter than most, but not too bright.   Still enjoyable though.   Thanks for the bottle Bob!

On tap at Republic. Good barn floor, cat box, with some breadiness. Clear gold, very pretty. Heavy hop initial; hops hit harder in mid; smooth, long, bitter aftertaste. Thin-medium body. Unbalanced and over-hopped stuff, but good.

22oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden amber with a thick creamy head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is full of pineapple and pine resin but also a hefty caramel malt sweetness - very balanced in the nose. Taste is also very balanced with caramel malts and toasted grains on one hand and grapefruit and pienapple on the other. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and sweeter than many IPAs. Itís got some prickly character with decent carbonation. This is one of the better balanced IPAs Iíve had recently. Iím not sure if Iím as big a fan of this than I am some of the hop-heavy IPAs out there, but it certainly makes it drinkable.
