COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

I really love this beer. The aroma is a nice hoppy sweet smell. Very hop forward, good blend of citrus and sweet. A very rock solid ipa.

Bottle at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white head. Big bright hops on the nose, soft and spicy. Medium bodied, spicy and hoppy. A touch of pithy grapefruit and quinine into the finish. Pretty solid.

22 oz bottle from Zipps Liquors (Minneapolis, MN). Pours a deeper golden orange hue, no real haze, a darkness to the body and dulled summer sunset hues in the body and edges are pretty. A bigger cakey beige head atop stays large, frothy cakey big head that keeps kicking, good lacing. Aromas are citrusy lemon and rind, grapefruit, florals. Firm bitter hop nose meets some bready malts, dough, pale elements. Firmer brighter lemony nose hits as it settles, secondary grapefruit. Florals and bitter hops. Soap, earthy hops. Initial is quite bitter, firm to stronger bitterness. Bitter hop, dry, floral and bigger citrus, florals, gentle yet growing pine. Middle is a bit of fruit, melon and citrus, florals and grass. Firmer bitterness, bready and pale malts, fairly clean as a stronger bitter hop character takes over the palate. A bit of tropical fruit, melon, and gentle grape. Flavors come on into the backend, bitter lemon, florals, and citrus return into finish. Pretty dry and bitter. Solid offering here, good flavors. Nose could use some more oomph but the flavors, experience, and overall flow of the beer work pretty well. Solid fresher IPA with some complexities.

(bottle) Pours a clear copper color with a large and fluffy white head that retains well. Aroma is standard IPA fare, nothing out of the ordinary, with pine, mint, and citrus zest (smells a lot like fresh kumquat). Pretty bright and clean, and this bears a striking resemblance to Indeed’s canned Day Tripper pale ale. The fresh, clean hops dominate and the malt makes nary an impression aromatically. The malts are more present in the flavor, with flavors of pretzel, obligatory caramel, and sweet lemon iced tea. Nicely bitter, but not overbearing, finish of hops which cleans up the sweetness really well. Mouthfeel contains the appropriate heft and toned down carbonation. Overall, this is a very solid IPA that I’d purchase more often if it were offered as a six-pack instead of a bomber.
