While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

5/2/13. 22oz bomber. My first Steel Toe tick! MOTHA FUCKEN CLEVAR FOR THE LOL WIN! Clear amber pour with a small off-white head. Mild piney, dank hop dose with some pale malts and caramel. Rich bitter hop flavor with more dank and pine followed by a touch of citrus, lingering dryness, and some malt balance. Tasty!

This was a very pleasant surprise. Aroma is pretty unremarkable, but the flavor is great. Well balanced citrus/pine hops and a solid, but never overpowering malt backbone. Really drinkable. Well done.

650 ml bottle from Kbutler. Thanks. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that has good retention. The aroma is medium in strength with pine, citric, oranges and dumpster. The flavor mirrors the aroma with pine resins, grapefruit, oranges, barley and something musty set in a caramel malt base. The palate is medium with lively carbonation. Finishes long with lingering bitter resins. Overall: Not a bad little IPA, not bad at all. Paired well with mixed nuts.

Bottle from khoffman43. Cheers, Kyle! Pours a mostly clear amber-copper with a white head. Nose is caramel, candied citrus, and lemongrass with some mild lemon. Flavor begins with mild lemon and citrus followed by grassy and lemony hops with some lemongrass towards the finish. Mildly drying finish with lingering hops. Medium in body and lingering lemony hops.

Bottle from chase, thanks! Pours clear amber, aroma is heavy pine, resin hops. Taste is bitter but not overwhelming so, real nice for the hopheads. Very light malt backbone, just enough though.

Received in a BIF from a generous Minnesotan. Consistent, with just enough resiny flavor. Nothing bites or smells over the top, but I guess that is consistent with a Northwest Style IPA.

Bottle at James’ place. Pours gold with a white head. Medium sweet malts, flowery and citric hops, and average IPA bitterness. A pretty well balanced and run-of-the-mill IPA,

Pours golden/orange with soft white head and spiderweb lacing. Aroma is soapy citrus and pine. Taste is floral with pine cone and light bread. Thin body with a bitter finish. Not a whole lot of depth.

I really love this beer. The aroma is a nice hoppy sweet smell. Very hop forward, good blend of citrus and sweet. A very rock solid ipa.

Bottle at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white head. Big bright hops on the nose, soft and spicy. Medium bodied, spicy and hoppy. A touch of pithy grapefruit and quinine into the finish. Pretty solid.
