COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true Bavarian Style Hef-Weizen with flavors and aromas of baked bread from malted wheat and bananas and cloves from a traditional strain of yeast. 5% ABV makes it an easy drinking brew for the hot summer days coming up. It’s so good it might become your Summer Vice!

Smell is slightly bananaey with a really strong malt smell as well. Pretty easy drinking, light, but wish it had a little more body to it. Solid, well priced, but nothing stellar.

On tap at the brewery. Very cloudy hefe which is good in my book. Refreshing take with yeast flavors and dough. Summer beer.

Cloudy visual reminiscent of other standard hefeweizens. Initial citrus followed up by light, limited mouthfeel. Disappointing end similar to old lemonade. Overall, more style than substance as it looks better than it tastes.

Bottle (old I think) shared by my brother. Pours a hazy light orange, decent head. I get a lot of bready malts on the nose, less on the tongue. Its not bad, but its definitely not good. One of Steel Toe’s weaker offerings. I will try again since I think this bottle was "aged"

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2014 Bottle shared at Brad Fest 2012 in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a cloudy yellow color with white head. Lemon, wheat, yeasty, citrus aromas and flavors. Re-rated on tap at Steel Toe: 7/6/13 - spicy, citrus, coriander, wheat flavors. Refreshing wheat.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis, courtesy of bnielsen13. Thanks a bunch Brad! Pours a cloudy light yellow appearance with a white head. Rich clove, bready yeasty, spicy, light banana aroma. Somewhat light, quite estery, clove, light banana, lemon, somewhat chewy flavor. Ok.

22 oz bottle purchased at Zipps in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is a fully hazed light orange with a small 1/4 inch white head. The aroma is a somewhat sharp grain wheat, along with clove and some dry grass. The taste is the wheat grain, much softer than the nose, blended nicely with the clove and grass. The palate is light bodied, un-filtered mouth feel, soft carbonation, bit of mineral with a somewhat watery finish. Simple, straight forward beer, enjoyable. I like hefe’s that don’t throw off too much banana and bubblegum; this one fit that bill.

651mL thanks to mattyb83. Pours a dirty, darker orange, fuller haze. Weak white head. No retention. Spotty lace. Nose is tangerine, sharp pear, vanilla, baked cinnamon apples. Taste is very bland, cereal, watery. Palate is doughy, small soap, thinner palate.

22 oz bottle. Pours a very hazy lazy sunshine yellow color with a quickly dissipating head. Flavors are wheat, banana, yeasty esters. Light bodied. Finish is crisp and clean, with just a hint of pepper or clove spice. Solid beer.

22 oz. bottle. Pours pale straw yellow with a quick sudsy white head that settles to a thin collar. Aroma is spicy yeast and bready malt with subtle clove and lemon. Taste is the same as the aroma with a more pepper note and some what heavy finish. Palate seems heavy and drying.
