Bottle share at DLD. Caramel malt and earthy peaty aroma. Clear copper with a large yellowed ivory head. Sweet buttery caramel and peaty flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

On draft at the taproom. Ruby brown color. Little head. Low aromas. Carbonation is a bit higher than expected and the taste is malty boozy but a bit thin.

Tap at brewery. Pours a reddish brown with.white head. Aroma and flavor are caramel malts, some scotchiness and heaviness. Overall, quite nice!

Tap at the brewery tap room. Reddish brown pour with a nice creamy head. Dark fruit and caramel, smooth fairly heavy palate, really nice brew!

750ml bottle from Atom, thanks Adam! Pours a deep brown colored body with a slight ruby hue. Finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is deep, sweet malts with a touch of alcohol. Nice raisin dark fruits, heavy caramel, some brown sugar, toasted nuts, and a light earth. Malt forward, but not overly sweet. Flavor is similar. Very rich malts, but not cloying or overly sweet. Deep caramels, toffees, raisin dark fruits, brown sugar, toasted nuts, and a hint of roast towards the end. Finishes rich and malty with a light earthy bitterness and a light alcohol note. Lengthy aftertaste following a fuller, somewhat sticky body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid, bigger scotch ale that drinks way too easy for the ABV%. Deep, rich, and malty, but balanced and never too cloying or sweet. I really enjoyed this one.

750 ml bottle, big thanks to Greg for getting this to me! Pours dark red brown color with a soapy off white head that fades to a sudsy collar. Aroma has burnt malt and candied sugar and dark dusty fruit. Taste is malty and boozy with hidden dusty fruit toffee and malt. Palate is full slick and somewhat sticky with a drying warm finish.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Levi! Dark red pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, spice, hints of licorice, touch of a vanilla. Taste is a mix of sweet caramel, toffee, caramelized sugars, touch of grainy notes, into some slight candied fruits, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter. Tasty!

Pour from a bottle. Clear dark copper with a spare head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is big caramel, brown sugar, some peated and smoked malts. Booze. Lots of caramel and crystal malt flavor without being overpoweringly sweet, but that might be the booze cutting through and lightening up the mouthfeel. I really enjoyed this one!

Bottle shared by Clevar - thanks!! Malty sweet nose. Check! Big sweet boozy malty goodness. Check! This is a real treat. It’s big, it’s boozy and is awesome. Did I mention malty? It would be super fun to age this and maybe someday Jason at Steel Toe will treat us to a BA version!

Bottle pours a deep mahogany with bright ruby highlights and a medium tan head. Aroma is very sweet, raisin, caramel malt, with an earthy dryness. Taste of sweet caramel, toffee, plum, nutty, with a strong punch of alcohol on the finish. Decent, and not at all hard to finish.
