steven111 (1), toronto, Ontario, Canada does not count Dec 27, 2005 awesome beer! Great taste and goes down nice. It has a great appeance, the plastic bottle stays colder longer and still keeps the flavor. Great price also. beermeup (4), Toronto, Ontario, Canada does not count Aug 18, 2005 For a pale lager this pretty decent. It is rich with a full taste of malt. You can really feel its carbonation - but its not too distracting. Goes down smooth and the aftertaste is clean and pleasant. Leaves a great finish.
I prefer their Red, but this one’s not bad at all. aevans01 (1), Ontario, Canada does not count Feb 6, 2005 honestly i don’t know what the whinning about this beer is all about. i don’t like the fact that it comes in a plastic bottle, but besides that I found it to be a very enjoyable beer! It isn’t a powerful beer in flavour at all, I just drank 4 with the superbowl and I, as well as 3 other people who sampled the beer, thought that it tasted quite good! It has NO aftertaste, and is not overly bitter. It is a beer that is worthy of your own scrutiny, as I am seriously amazed at the other responces on this board (the negitive ones). This is not a beer for people who love the flavour of hops, it doesn’t give a powerful hops flavour. A very good beer for young drinkers, and drinkers that want something that goes down smooth. Try their newer stuff, its pleasantly nicer but this works when ya just need a beer. GregClow (2318), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 5, 2008 Re-rating based on version from relaunched Steelback: Golden colour that is darker than most macro lagers, but still on the light side, with a small white head. Aroma of grainy malt, very light toasted note, a moderate sweetness. Thin mouthfeel, fairly low carbonation. Mild flavour of grain and grass, with hops in the finish that are light but noticeable. Very clean and refreshing, this is a simple but well-made mainstream lager.
Old rating based on the original version: It is what it is... the putrid ass-juice of the hounds of Hell. [1/1/1/1/1 - 0.5]
