4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bought at JCs Thriftway in Newport OR.
Under the name of McKenzie Brewing.
Pours a slightly darker burnt orange than the usual IPA, with a nice sized, creamy, frothy off white head.
Woah great aroma to this one! Great wafts of herbal, floral hops with equally appealing honey caramel malts..really like this!
Taste is nice too but quite balanced between the honey malts and hops..very pleasant drinking.
Good mouth feel its lowish carbonation and smooth on the tongue.
Did not think this would amount to much but this is a really nice PNW style IPA

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the Thriftway in Newport.. Aroma of resin, brown sugar & wheat bread. The lightest of haze in a green tinged amber, quick thin white head. Flavors of pine, lemon, and honey. Good mix in the mouth--a llttle fizz, a little oil. Clean finish. I’ve reviewed many beers where the sum of aroma and taste was higher than the overall, this is first i can think of where the sum is less than overall, the whole greater than the sum of hte parts.

Clear golden orange pour with a soapy white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, caramel, and pine. Tropical fruit flavor with some caramel, pine, and a subtle bitter ending. Very nice beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was shared with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. This poured an orange-copper with a big off-white head and lots of lacing. Nose is tropical fruit and citrus, on sweet caramel malt base. Medium in body. The flavor is very fruity, but the citrus holds it own. As we move to the finish the bitterness arrives, but the fruit and malts remain. Very easy to drink and well balanced. A first class West Coast IPA. Labeled MCKenzie Brewing. Steelhead is never mentioned.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebok chat. This poured with a huge off white head that took a long time to recede. Every pour filled the glass with foam. Thick but fluffy lacing remains throughout. The beer was hazy and coppery. In the nose I got citrus and floral hops and those were tasted. More malt in the flavor along with more fruit. Citrus and tropical. Malts were both pale and caramel with some crackers. Bitterness is moderate. This is generally sweet. It begins with the hops in front but switches midway with the malts moving up. More pale than caramel. The finish was sweet with malts and yeast. This had a classic hop profile but with a little extra. That was also true of the malts. This was tasty stuff.

Bomber from PC Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. As McKenzie Brewing Twisted Meniscus IPA. Pours clear copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is floral and fruity. Med body. Almost. Flavor is floral and light pitted fruit. Gets a bit earthy. Caramel backbone. Finishes floral/earthy bitter. It’s quite nice.
