Pours clear brown with a big head. Smell is absent. Slight bitter dry taste, but overall is a sweet beer, as you expect with these kinds of beers. Not bad

Bottle@Home. Malty and light fruity aroma. Brown, beige head, good lace. Sweet, malty, light fruity, bitterish finish, light herbal. Bit thin. Flavourful, bit too sweet, odd bitterness. So much about the beer. However the rest... topfermented Bock? Does that even exsist? Is it still a Bock? Secondly it says it has Gruut/Gruit in it? Why? In a Bock? And why at all if it’s hidden so well you don’t taste anything that leans towards Gruit?? Stupid.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2012 Clean brown bodied with small yet stable beige head. Quite grainy, some roasted nuts and dry. Taste is medium sweet, especially noticeable in the ending, and has some herbal bitterness in the beginning. Some sour note as well, nt sure if that?s supposed to be there. Feel mass produced. No really not very rich or flavourful. Cheap grainy feel to this one. Disappointing. (22cl bottle from De Bierwinkel Leiden) Medium brown, murky body and active tan lace. Boy this is sweet. Caramel candy, cheap grains, some spice, some bread but mostly brown sugar. Taste is equally sweet, although it has some burned notes. No, not great this Belgian bock. (On tap at Utrechts Bokbierfestival)

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2012 Smakeloze schuimkraag. Bruin/robijnkleurige bock met weinig body. Zelfs wat waterig.
Smaak is kruidig,zoet.
Jammer had een goed biertje kunnen wezen als deze maar een Vollere smaak en body had gehad

Bottle from the local Mitra. Brown color. Soft caramelly aroma. Malty sweetish, soft roasty flavor with a hint of licorice. Roasty, drinkable, yet onedimensional beer.
