Malty aroma with spices.
Taste of hops and yeast with a little less spice, good bitterness, ok body and carbonation.

I’ve become a fan of this one. Steenbrugge Blond goes really well with food. It’s easy drinkable and the combination with the Gruut makes it nice and spicey. Nice fruity taste and aroma and the lacing with this one is incredible. If you try one, try to get some food next to it, like some good rare cooked meat or such.

0.33l bottle. Pours a clear golden unfiltered body with a big bubbly white head. Aroma is nice and light yeasty with some sweet peachy and fruity notes. Watery mouthfeeling and average carbonated. Flavors are mild yeasty and fruity-sweet with more peaches and mild caramel. A note of alcohol in the finish perhaps? and it’s leaving a light malty and semi-dry aftertaste.

Bottle. Dark cloudy orange with a disappointingly short head. Aroma is malt, a bit of butter, phenolic, yeasty, slightly peachy-orange estery, a bit like fruit candy, some alcohol, very faint toffee, wood, metal and dampness. Taste is lightly fruity, quite pronouncedly phenolic, buttery, some faint toffee, light bitterness and some alcohol that keeps in harmony with the rest. Could have been a bit more fruity but it is very good nevertheless.

draft@bowling: much better than I expected this would be, absolutely clear, golden with a small white head that held up for quite a while, it is sweet but not extremely so, some toffee & white sugar, fruity (tropical fruits), malt plus spices with smallest hint of hops, light to medium body & carbonation, simple but effective but don’t go out of your way to find it
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crossovert (2547) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 4, 2011
750ml bottle, brewed with Gruut.
Pours with a soapy looking fizzy head, I really dislike the look of the head. The body is nice though it is a pure, vibrant, crystal clear gold with tons of carbonation bubbles racing towards the head.
The smell is standard Belgian pale, some grains, some yeast, not much hops, lightly sweet, it is average for the style of those produced in Belgium.
The flavor is sweet, with some herbal and yest characteristics. There is a slight spicy bitterness from the spices. But overall it is very clean and quaffable.
