Light amber look, profuse white head. Fresh aroma with far floral notes. Herbal taste with spices and malty notes. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Medium body, oily feel, average carbonation and a short and dry sweet after taste. Ok.

On tap in the Cafe De Engelbewaarder. Clear gold beer, good white head. Light crisp palate. Typical tripel sweetish malt but with a little pepper. Trace of fruit underneath. Served in good nick at the Engelbewaarder - much better than anywhere else I’ve had it in Holland or Belgium.

bottiglia - De Shutter Cafè - Amsterdam. tripel ambrata, asciutta in bocca, porta subito note mielose e di caramello. un amaro discreto e non molto persistente, lascia un buon sapore liquoroso con note di erbe sul finale

Bottle. Moderate notes of grain for the malt, lemon for the hops, musty for the yeast, with white wine, clove and alcohol in the background. Head is large, fizzy turning frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling, clear light yellow/amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes faintly sweet and lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation and lightly alcoholic and dry finish. A good drinking beer and pretty much a middle of the road Abbey Tripel.

Outstanding tripel beer from Bruges. Not too much a fan of beers from Bruges, but this one’s a good one.

Pours a light golden colour with nice white lacing. Smells like one of those blue tablets in a public restroom, sorry to say, but that is what it reminded me off. Aroma improves as the beer warms, gets more farmyard hay. Taste is funky barnyard hay and again public restroom tablet followed by a citrus hop bitterness. My description makes it sound worse than it is, its an ok beer.

Light orange clear body, good sized head that holds pretty decent, sticks good to the glass. Smell of malts, citrus, spices, something sweet inside. Taste is pretty powerfull. Spices, malts. light dry-bitter finish from the hops, but also light sweetness and a bit malty at the end.

750ml corked, caged, and foiled bottle. Brewed by Palm. Pours a nice golden color, a bit deeper than a German pils with a large, billowing bright white head. No lacing. Smell is average for a tripel, it is nice and fruity and yeasty but it seems a bit too filtered and nice. There are hints of the breadlike malts as well. It again, tastes like an average tripel, nice spiciness, the hops are very noticeable and citrusy, and the malt is a nice backing, not bad. There is some nice bitterness here. It is too carbonated though, the mouthfeel is sharp and biting. It isn’t too bad of a brew, sort of middle of the road for tripels. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-23-2010 03:20:06

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly, leaving no lace. Slight hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Fruity, spicy nose and flavor is tart fruit with hints of sweetness. Higher ABV is hidden. $10.99 for a caged and corked 750ml bottle from Market Basket Concord, NH.
