Pours hazy golden with a hint of copper. Its white head is big at first and has medium lifetime. The nose is very tropical with it banana and pineapple notes, which are accompanied by buttery sourdough and cupcake notes. It also has a hint of spicy qualities to it. A mouthful reveals a burst of fruitiness up front, followed by caramelized malts on the mid-palate which is only slightly unclean. From the center, it makes a transition from semi-sweet caramel flavor to a long finish which leaves a nice glow from the alcohol as well as spiciness of clove and white pepper behind. Steenbrugge Tripel has a soft and creamy mouthfeel overall; with an above average carbonation complementing the spiciness nicely. While the it can be taken as complex, it is on the more ’casual’ side of tripel. Dangerously sessionable at 8.7% ABV.

Pleasant aroma of Belgian yeast and spices. Small head disappearing to thin durable layer. Clear golden body. Harsh alcohol bitterness in taste with good flavour of spices.

Location: Draft at St. Arnold’s, 5/24/14

Aroma: The aroma is on the sweet side, yeast/spice, and some fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear yellow-orange color with a decent sized head
Flavor: This beer has a pretty decent flavor, leans sweet, with some spice to it as well
Palate: The mouthfeel is pretty solid too, with a decent body
Overall Impression: I’m surprised I haven’t rated this one before. This is a nice, solid, Tripel. I have no complaints.

Clear golden extremely carbonated body w/ off-white head. Clove, spicy & yeast aromas. Bready malt flavors lead to spicy middle & a clean, dry finish. Excellent Belgian Tripel.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear light gold with white head. A little on the higher carbonation side. Aroma is hay, grass, belgian yeast and spices. Taste is similar to aroma with more sweetness and less bitterness than most tripels. Definitely get spice flavors with floral notes. A perfumey taste kind of lingers on the aftertaste. Really don't get any alcohol burn. Overall a decent tripel but not near as good as the top tier ones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
