Stegmaire’s been brewing excellent beers for 150 years now. So our award winning brew master is celebrating by bringing you Steg 150 - a full bodied, all malt lager with pure copper color and no adjuncts. The finest noble hops give it a slight floral aroma, and with a nice rounded malt finish. Steg 150 is honestly one of the best all malt lagers ever. Enjoy! Here’s to another 150!

Received as a trade extra from BA Psycohops, the 12 oz long neck bottle was conservatively adorned with a simple but elegant front label, and a very informational back label. The beer itself was clear and effervescent deep gold (rather than copper as indicated on the packaging), and the head was one finger thick. The aroma was clean and malty with some spice also present. The taste indicated spicy floral hops and double concoction sweet and toasty German malts. Although malty, the start and end was each sip felt quite dry. Very smooth and softly textured mouthfeel. Simple of construction, but more complex in character than first suggested. No ABV listed, but I suspect this was a bit heavier than a typical Vienna Lager.

Had this at brew at the Zoo this year. Mahogany color with nice sized head. The taste was malty with some strange bitterness. Light roasted notes.

Solid. The aroma was overloaded w/ malts and subtle hops. It’s appearance is a dark amber color. It’s flavor is heavy malt and sublte hops, it ends curiosly with a sweetness, possibly fruit or sugars. This rather smooth. A nice session beer.

12oz Bottle, consumed 8/1/07. Pours a lighter shade of copper with some nice artificially induced bubble. Aroma is strikingly similar to Yuengling Lager without the over the top creamed corn. Flavor again reminds me of Yuengling, just a little bit cleaner. Market this as an American Lager and it gets much better reviews from me, but if I gotta hear sales speak about how great of a Vienna it’s supposed to be, I’m rating it as such. And a Vienna it ain’t.

It poured a dark amber with a good sized light tan head. I expected a strong heavy malted drink from the color. It was much lighter bodied than I expected, more like a Vienna in the title. It was crisp and refreshing, words I normally write about a good Pilsner. It was well balanced with a light malt aftertaste.

Pours a light mahogany color with an off white head. Flavor is of roasted and dark malts with a some hops. It is light to medium bodied with a nice crisp taste. This is a good lager.

12oz bottle, and draft. I Ilke it, I think this can give Yuengling Lager a run for its money. It is a very easy to drink beer with a great balance. It has a beautiful mahogany color with a off white head. Very smooth going down with more flavor than Yuengling. This is a great every day brew.

Where can I obtain this in the Boston, MA area? I am looking to use a ’150’ beer to celebrate the 150th anniversary of an event. Thanks.
