Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a medium copper with a relatively short-lived white head. There is a touch of hops in the aroma, but the balance is definitely one leaning toward character malts. It doesn’t have the complexity of the best examples of American Pale Ale, but it is definitely better than some. The palate is also malt-focused, perhaps due to the fact that many of the samples I’ve tried have sat for a time. Again, the flavor is simple and a bit watery, but better than the industrial light lagers. Overall, it isn’t a great example of APA, but it is drinkable, reasonably flavorful, and an incredible value (at one point, cases were $8).

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a small frothy off white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is very hoppy with citrus and caramel. The taste is a very smooth hop, light bitter in the finish and a bit watery. Hides the alcohol well with a taste more like a regular IPA not double, but still good.

Transfering from notes. Bottle. Well it is def not a double IPA. Quite weak. Amber pour with a small white head. Aroma of light hops and some malt. Taste is very mild for a double IPA. I think the style need to be changed.

Pours an amber color with a small white head. Hoppy aroma, not much else. Very malty body, odd for an "IPA". Sweet, but hoppy finish, no evidence of the 8.2%. Not bad.

A little darker than a pale yellow lager and a little hazy. Has some hops aroma but it is not forward notr clear in the olfactory, more of a laid back smell. Initial flavor is not IIPA as styled here, more like an APA or possibly an IPA. Flavor is not over the top bitter at all. I will recommend this style be changed to APA. Finsih is bitter medium linger.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Juart. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a very small tight fizzy off-white head. Aroma of strong floral hops and grapefruit rinds. A little caramel as well. A little bit of chalky undertone. Flavor is well-balanced. A strong malty caramel flavor with a sort of muddled hop flavor. The bitterness does not really hit you right away, but it does sort of sneak up. Rich oily body. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Not great, but very drinkable for a IIPA that costs 20 bucks a case.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a large orange-khaki head. The aroma was sweet fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and fruity/piney hops. There was a light sweet malty undertone. Mild and quite quaffable. Solid.

12oz bottle. Small beige head atop lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, cantaloupe, pineapple, some orange, light pepper. Taste is medium sweet, herbal/pine, some alcohol. Medium body, light acidity.
