bottle. Pours copper with off-white head. Caramel malt and hops in the nose, with a malt forward flavor paired with subdued hops and some tropical fruit flavors. OK, not great.

Aroma - oily smelling hops, but not strong Appearance - body is a red amber; liquid is clean and clear; head is about 1 1/2" and white decent head retention. Nice lacing Taste - the hops aren't really aggressive they taste a little stale, the malt body is not very complimentary. Palate - body is medium; texture is approaching oily; carbonation is average; finish is a bit stale strong hops, likely Centennials. Palate - body --- JPS

Bottle, screw-top. Caramel malt and a touch of spaghetti sauce in the nose, dough. Pours hazy amber-orange with a soapy beige head. Taste is sweet with mild bitterness, there’s some mild hoppy fruitiness but not much. Tends rather toward bland and faded etoh-transmission vehicle, unfortunately. Slightly floral, a little grassy/even vegetal, full body with a touch of alcohol showing. It does have a firm backbone, but very little flesh.

12oz bottle. Orange-tan body. Lots of carbonation bubbles rising to meet a big, foamy, soapy, off-white head. A little old school certainly, but still a decent IPA. Chewy malt tones and a mellow piny grapefruit hop flavor. Fruity English yeast tones. Can’t compete with the World Class beers, but is still an enjoyable, well made beer.

Flavor is just right for this IPA. I don’t know why it receives such bad reviews....maybe the formula was changed.

Bottle. Pours clear orange with a medium white head. The aroma is citrus and citrus alone.. orange mostly. The taste is fairly malty. There is grapefruit, caramel, a bit of a bitter finish, and maybe some honey. OK.

September 2012. Bottle. Orange/amber color with a white head. Malty aromas with caramel and some pine. Flavors are muted and not really in balance. The finish is flat and boring. Move on....

On tap at some Mex place in Center City, Philly. Pretty average IPA, especially considering the various local offerings available elsewhere. Golden orange pour with vigorous carbonation. Strong malt component in the nose, along with bitter hops, only a trace of fruit notes. Mouthfeel a trace syrupy. Decently refreshing in places, but the whole came across as a bit too slick and sweet.

From bottle. Pours hazy orange with lacing. Aroma was malty and grassy. Taste follows with straw and earth. A little musty.

Single bottle. Pours orange with small head. Some hops in the nose; taste is straw and skunk. Fairly light body; decent kick. Mediocre at best.
