3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated to the edge. Aroma was slight pine but mainly sweet grains. Flavor also had a slight bitter pine note but sweet bread and grains were the dominate notes for this beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear orange and bright, moderately active, bubbles rising to to a nice cushiony head. This doesnít put much of an aroma, maybe just a hint of tropical fruit. It drinks with a bit of a spicy edge, earthy and ripe, actually pretty good. I think this is underrated and is a victim of prejudice to the source. (#4572, 4/22/2012)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a nice frothy one inch head that left some nice lacing. The nose shows some decent citrusy hops, but thereís a too sweet crystal malt base behind them that makes me think that this isnít going to be great. Nicely bitter, rather surprisingly so even, with some crystal malt but not a terrible amount. Still a little too sweet overall, but itís better than most of the Lionís efforts. Medium bodied, a touch sticky on the back end with fizzy carbonation. Could be better, but itís not bad.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a small foamy off-white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was caramel and faint floral and fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and dryish with hints of caramel, floral hops, fruity hops and pepper. Medium finish and body. Eh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Crisp amber and copper coloured body with a thick tan head that fades fast. Aroma of apricots, pears, light hops, copper and a bit of other metallic notes. Light-bodied; Sharp hop notes at first with a relatively minor grapefruit and grassy note with a mellow malt and herbal finish. Aftertaste has a subdued grassy and herbal note with a bit of perfume and almost no distinct hops to speak of - still a bit better than some of the worst, but that isnít saying much. Overall, not a great beer, but truly not one of the worst IPAs, somewhere in the middle, closer to the bottom. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 09-November-2011 for US$1.29 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 12-November-2011.
