COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stegmaier IPA is an American India Pale Ale with an Attitude! Brewed with American malts and aggressively hopped with three varieties of American hops, Centennial, Cascade, and Nugget. Stegmaier IPA has an assertive hop presence and a strong malt backbone to support the quarter ton of hops used in the brew. Stegmaier IPA is a hop loverís delight!

Labeled Lionshead at Albion on 2nd ave. was super excited to support the WB. Brings me back to those happy days of Lionshead where they opened both my palate and my mind. This has a wonderful Amber color but not too much aroma coming off of it. I blame the glass. However it was poured with a perfect head so hard off to the ítender. A sharp bite of hops followed by a slightly malty finish. Would drink this every day if I was still in the burg.

very citrusy aroma, piney as well only a hint of malt so far so good..appearance light clear orange/yellow,thin cloudy head leaves lacing..tastes like it smells lemony grapefruit with tingly spicy and piney bitterness not a lot of malt background not complex but refreshing...medium bodied, lightly carbonated dry citrus aftertaste overall not a classic but very good in itís own way and may be the best bargain at about 6-7 bucks a 6 pack thats come around in awhile..i look forward to these being around on a hot day if theyre still available

For the longest while Lion seemed to pump out bland macro-wannabies until recently (Pocono lager whatever). This is an easy drinker which has some generous grapefruit up front but is a bit one dimensional regarding its hop flavors despite some spruce tones. Well carbonated with some dryness in the finish. Things are getting better in NEPA and check out the Pale Ale while youíre at it.

Pours amber with a nice sized slightly tan head. Aroma is citrusy grapegruit and tropical fruit hops. Flavor is a nice blend of citrusy hops and a slight malt backbone. Pretty good.

Flavor is just right for this IPA. I donít know why it receives such bad reviews....maybe the formula was changed.

Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated to the edge. Aroma was slight pine but mainly sweet grains. Flavor also had a slight bitter pine note but sweet bread and grains were the dominate notes for this beer.

Bottle. From sampler pack. Copper color, very faint aroma. Strong and quite hoppy. I agree with the only other reviewer so far that this is a big improvement for Stegmaier beers. Not one of my favorite IPAs but definitely competitive with the better ones.

Bottle. Clear orange and bright, moderately active, bubbles rising to to a nice cushiony head. This doesnít put much of an aroma, maybe just a hint of tropical fruit. It drinks with a bit of a spicy edge, earthy and ripe, actually pretty good. I think this is underrated and is a victim of prejudice to the source. (#4572, 4/22/2012)

Got this in the variety case sold at the local distributor. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange brown with nice medium layer of foamy manilla head. Aroma reminds me a lot of a florist shop with a tad bit of sweet fruits. Flavor has decent caramel malt base with bit abrasive pine hop on the back end. Overall, decent ipa.

Haze orange pour. Citrus and hoppy atoms. A nice lingering bitterness. Overall not bad.
