3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an oilly black with a thin tan head. Big roasted malty aroma. Dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, hops, and dark fruits on the tongue. Thin mouthfeel, through. I was hoping for a more full and slick mouthfeel. Decent aftertaste, but it doesnít leave the presence that it seems it should. Great flavor and aroma, but itís just too thin. Very, very drinkable. This beer def gets bonus points fot being about the same price as Pabst Blue Ribbon.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I am actually shocked at the 94 rating on this brew. To its benefit, it is absolutely gorgeous, puring an opaque black with a slight read tint, and topped with a strong frothy brown head. It also sports a fantastic thick roasted malt aroma. However, I found it be slightly thin bodied, and the body was not as chewy as the nose portended. Sure it had a nice roast quality, but the slightly sour finish did not complement the roasty nose.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours brown almost black with small brown head. Aroma is outstanding-roasted coffee beans, chocolate, dark fruits from hell, brown sugar, and a twinge of something like sarsaparilla. Flavor backs of most of the aroma and has an aftertaste of charred chocolately plums with raisins. Palate is a little light considering but is made up for with the exceptional value of about 4.99/6pk

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
1 inch thick, dark brown head of fine dense bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with some roasted grains, raisins, a hint of coffee and some caramel. Damn good aroma. Color is a very dark brownish black. Bitter dry flavor. Strong roastyness and coffee. Big coffee finish with some carbon. Lots of carbon. Little bit of sourness. Pretty clean finish but with a little lingering sweet malts. This brew started off great but did not finish all that well. Damn good deal for the price though.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
12-ounce threaded bottle. Pours an adamant ebony with a thumb-thick buckskin-colored head. The head falls apart in a minute or two, but other than that, this is a picture-perfect beer to look at. Big roasty bread on the nose, with creamy roast, chocolate, and a bit of coffee in the flavor. The palate is an intelligent median between creamy and a bit of carbonation. Big-bodied but not to imperial stout button-popping levels. Very drinkable with a refreshing and understated dry finish. Worth a pitcher easily. Worth consecutive rounds, even with that heavy body.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very dark brown with a fluffy brown head that has good retention but not very good lacing. The taste is of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and roasted malts. A really good beer for 17 a case. When I finished writing this I read the first review under mine and it is just about the exact same, I find this amusing.

Impressive porter. Very dark color with a tan head. Aroma that is powerful with vanilla bean and chocolate and maybe some caramel. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malts all converge to provide a complex flavor that quite impressive.
