THOUGHTS: Great for the price. Full of flavor and with the relatively low ABV itís quite easy to drink. Not spectacular, but possibly the best by the dollar of all the pumpkin beers. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light, orangey amber with an average, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished. There aroma contained light caramel; pumpkin pie spices; and fruity pumpkin. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and ever-so-slightly sour ; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly sour and slightly bitter with a short duration. The medium body was fairly watery with very fizzy carbonation and a dry and slightly chalky finish.

5000 (6299) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Bottle:   Amber, thin sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Dull spices on the nose, dull pumpkin pie (crust and filling).   Fairly dull and a bit mealy on the tongue.   Feels a bit sweaty, wet sock perhaps.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft, dull spices linger.   Not bright at all, and has a mustiness or stale aspect that detracts a bit.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Virgina Beach. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large foamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Big spice aroma with a bit of sweet pumpkin. The taste is tart pumpkins, caramel and a pumpkin spice finish. Medium bodied. Decent.

Great aroma of pumpkin and cinnamon. Itís a shame the flavor doesnít measure up. A bit watery and bland.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5077) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-caramel color with a medium sized orange-tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sour and tangy with strong nutmeg and cinnamon. The flavor was tangy, bready and earthy with definite pumpkin and moderate notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. There was a light toasted caramel undertone. Medium length tangy caramel, bread and cinnamon. Solid.

Shared a 12oz bottle. Poured a medium orange color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was spices, some pumpkin notes. Flavor was pumpkin notes, pie characteristics there too. About average but drinkable.

Meh... a very average pumpkin beer. Aroma was very weak for the style. Pumpkin pie spice mixed with a weird cleansing chemical smell. Pour was a nice autumny medium brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was alright. The big spice here is cinnamon and it comes out more as it warms. The rest of the typical spices are there and gone in a disappointing watery finish. Not much lingering flavors after the swallow. Nice strong carbonation.

Pours a transparent deep orange with no head and no lacing. The aroma is very spicy with nutmeg standing out the most. The taste is also spicy with the emphasis being on cinnamon. Itís pretty well balanced and kind of tasty. Itís decent. It has a pretty light mouthfeel with a slight lingering of the cinnamon on the tongue. Worth trying.

Bottle. Dark amber with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is sweet with a pleasant spiciness to it. Caramel, sweet malt, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg make up the bulk of the nose. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, soft spice, light pumpkin pie notes, brown sugar and hints of candied yam. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more soft pumpkin pie, sweet malt, caramel, light spices and hints of toffee and candied yam.

Bottle purchased at Party Source. Clear orange/amber color with a medium off-white head. Malty nose with some dankness and muted spice. Flavor starts spicy with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg accents, then some malt jumps in, then the spices are back for the finish. Didnít love the smell on this one, but the flavor was decent.
