Faint malt flavor and some bitterness bu the skunk overpowers everything! bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

Slight skunky oder, but overall worth a try. hair-old (137), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 29, 2006 While pouring the beer into the glass a huge flood of skunkiness caught me. After the pour the aroma was still quite skunky with corn and cobwebs. Not looking forward to the taste at this point. The appearance looks okay clear golden with lively carbonation. The taste leaves much to be desired - very thin metallic taste with the skunky qualities. Unfortunately that lingers in on the finish with an unpleasant bitterness. The finish lingers quite a bit as well. Gets slightly more drinkable after being in the glass for a bit. Nice lacing and head retention This was in a 330ml bottle. I have had this previously in 750ml and don’t remember it being this bad. It will be quite a while before I try this one again. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2006 The bottle poured a sparkling clear pale yellow beverage with a small rocky white head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma had notes of hay and grassy hops along with the malt aroma of light bread in the background. The body was light with lively carbonation and a watery texture, initially. It had a light, refreshing finish that was average in length with a slight astringency to it. The flavor started off lightly bitter and finished that way as well. jb (1033), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2006 This tasted like a German Pils to me. And that is worth at least a mediocre review. Was disappointed when I poured this, looked like pale macro slop. But okay head with good retention. Lively beer, heavy hops in the aroma, somewhat creamy palate too, which was a nice surprise. Dry finish. sanmiguel (118), Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2006 When I first took a sniff at it, it had a faint skunky scent to it, and I prepared for the worst...Steinlager was not that bad! It had a clean, grassy, astringent taste to it. Recommended.
