May 23, 2005 Blonde très pale, faible mousse blanchâtre issue d’un minuscule dégagement gazeux. La pièce se remplit d’une puissante odeur de moufette en détresse dès l’ouverture de la bouteille. Arômes hyper skunky montrant également une bonne dose de légumes bouillis, de maïs et de jus de pomme. Les flaveurs de grains sont complètement dominées par le DMS en bouche. Densité très mince, faible carbonatation, légèrement piquante. Finale sèche transportant un léger arrière-goût de grain et de métal. Bouteille SAQ Mai 2005.

May 20, 2005 gets a pass, this is a pleasent enough beer, but is very similar to the James Boags/Cascade Premium style beer of low malt, clean hops.
Unfortunately it also shares a touch of cidery/carb soda that affects the Boags premium.

May 16, 2005 Bottle at Coco’s Outback in Amsterdam. How could I turn down a beer that labels itself as the "World’s best lager", and "New Zealand’s finest". Pours clear gold with no head except for faint bubbles. Smells like apple cider. Clean taste and mouthfeel but with one uggy aftertaste.

May 12, 2005 Pours pale golden with good white head. I recently had this one on tap and it didn’t have the awful skunky aroma as does the bottled version. Grassy aroma and flavor. Nice hop bitterness in the finish. Clean, crisp, and a shame more raters don’t have it on draft.

May 8, 2005 Steinlager’s an average beer...not overwhelming, not underwhelming. Nice skunky nose, with a smooth golden look. Head discipates to thin line after couple minutes and doesn’t always hold the flavour for extended periods. Nice earthy, grassy flavour with bitterness at the back of the tongue, goes down pretty smooth. Again, this is a well done, but average lager.
