Is New Zealand that different from Australia? Guess not, cuz this is as bad as Fosters.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2005 Pale golden colour. Grassy aroma with hints of pale malt. Mild bitterness with grassy notes and again a light, balancing pale malt. Fairly dry finish. I havenít had this in over 12 years, and Iím pretty surprised. Much hoppier than youíd expect from a national lager brand, itís on a par with the lighter German pils like Beckís or Warsteiner and depending on the relative freshness, could easily surpass them. Green Bullet is a unique hop to us non-antipodeans and its character can be likened to Nugget on the bitterness side and a dull, thudding noble offshoot in terms of flavour.

I love this beer. Tkaes awhile to get a taste for it, but once youíve got its great. Seems to go straight to my head. Personally i think this and Macís summer Ale are the best beers to come out of NZ. NOTE. the ísteiniesí iíve tried overseas dont taste quite the same as those brewed here in NZ. Get real one and try it.

Lighter colored. Decent flavor, although not much to it.

Straw coloured with a white head. Grassy flavour with some bitterness towards the end. Not super sweet like a Budweiser, nor is it terribly bitter. But for a mainstream lager, itís better than a lot of stuff that is out there.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2005 Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow, light density of small particles. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal), lightly hoppy (herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Adjuncty, grainy lager. Blah.

I hate doing this, but itís probably the least favorite of my beer recommendation list at work. Pretty straightforward light maltiness, dry finish with not too much hop for those who want an original selection but usually drink High Life. Steinlager, kiwi for Fosters.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Not much in the way of aroma, just some faint hops. Ordinary appearance. Flavor is a bit ordinary, too, but has just enough of a hoppy bite to make it okay. Nice carbonation and aftertaste. Iím afraid the aftertaste alone as a good quality will keep me from recommending this highly.

The taste didnít live up to the aroma. Still, it was pretty good. Surprisingly not skunky considering itís in a green bottle. Very crisp and very refreshing.

Nothing great here. Iíve had much worse. Middle of the road overpriced New Zealand beer.
