COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Steinlager® is a lager with a distinctive grassy note and clean crisp bitterness of green bullet hops. It is balanced with a dry, astringent finish.

Dry with a bad bitterness. Faint bad aroma. yuck, horrible aftertaste. It is drinkable as you don’t want to stop because then you have to deal with the aftertaste. This one should not have left N.Z. I guess it is good for my Geo Stats at least.

Pale gold / dull brown crystal clear look a decent sized white cap for a lager floats on top. Dark pungent power skunk aroma that effects all air within a five foot radius of my glass. This smell is mildly turning my stomach. Ok this description of the taste seems horrid but I mean it in the best way possible, rotten apple dipped in used coffee grounds with a sweet metallic and or bloody nose finish. Oh gawd hope Jeff and Leah don’t realize I just farted as they talk 3 feet away. Beer is drinkable but why bother.

Bottle. Clear yellow with a medium frothy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma isslightly skunky with corn, metal, sweet malt and herbal hops. Flavor is sweet malt, corn, metal and herbal hops. Thin to medium body.

Drank plenty of these when I was last in NZ. Mega skunky aroma that’ll knock your socks off if you’re not ready for it. Lucky this isn’t reflected in the taste. Very crisp, nice and clean corn and hops sort of taste, goes down easy with moderate carbonation, slight bitter hops aftertaste. This stuff grows on you and it’s easy to get rat arsed on, but don’t have too many, those green Motueka hops will leave you with a horrible headache the next morning. Decent enough, shame about the aroma and the hangover though.

Aroma and flavour are largely grass, walnuts and grainy malt. Hint of that (not-so-nice) green bullet - high alpha. I’ve tried this one many a year ago, and I think the flavour is remarkably different (as it, easier to drink), or perhaps my palate has evolved a little bit. Hmm, could be better than some others, for a cheaper-but-not-crap, session beer.

~Pours a clear pale gold with big fluffy white head. Some lacing. ~Sour hay aroma with malt and spicy hops. ~Hops are more dominate in flavor. Slightly grassy followed by a light sweetness. Fairly weak. ~Palate is junk. Hardly any carbonation. Feels just like water. No aftertaste. ~Disappointing brew. Bland and boring.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small and chalk white head. Aroma is light citrusy and grassy, rather crisp and inviting. Citrusy, light cornish and crisp grassy bitter flavoured. Medium dry and vague citrusy flavoured finish. Good pale lager.
