2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 elihapa (1369) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - MAY 20, 2008
5/19/08 notes: bottle. Nose of grass, bread, gasoline. Flavor is of bitter grass and some caramel sweet. Finishes fairly clean. Not recommended, especially for the price.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wxman (889) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2008
First tried this beer 25 years ago and am just now getting around to rating. If nothing else, this light lager is consistant; it looks and tastes the same as it did then. Pours a bright pale gold with a reasonable fluffy white head that diminishes quickly, but enough sticks around to lace the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and hop flowers. Crisp clean refreshing taste consisting of sweet pale malt and slight but assertive hop bitterness. Pretty darn good lawnmower beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 patricks110 (813) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 15, 2008
Bottle at Bottlescrew Bills calgary,AB. Great taste. Lacking in smelly. A bit skunky and grassy. Goes down smooth.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 ilovedarkbeer (1864) - Abilene, Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Pours a straw / golden color with an extremly white head that is fizzy. Nose is grass and skunkyness, maybe a bit of lightstruck due to the green bottle. Taste is corn, and earth, and grains. Not good.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 unclemike (1363) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - MAY 5, 2008
Bottle. Bit pale golden colour with a medium rather short lasting bubbly head. Aroma of grains and hops. Flavour is clean, bit thin, grainy and grassy, bit hoppy with a dryish bit sweet finish. Brewed since 1950 and is still the most famous Kiwi beer. A rather boring beer though.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - APR 30, 2008
12oz bottle: Another lager in my quest to find the best darn beer in a green bottle. This is getting closer! Pale yellow pour with a creamy white that actually sticks around for a bit. While the nose is full of grassy, skunky hops, they somehow seem a bit more defined than other similar smelling beers. A light wildflower honey note lingers as well. The body is more malty than anything, buttery caramel mostly. A solid bitterness keeps it in check, without becoming into the usual corn and wet grass experience. Definitely not bad for the style.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 roder60 (1234) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 18, 2008
Pours a beautiful clear light pale yellow color with tons of bubbles and a huge billowy white head. Nice lemony grassy aroma. Flavor nice and light and crisp with nice citric hops. Overall, extremely enjoyable on a hot day.
