1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 iowaherkeye (2429) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 21, 2007
I bet Peter Jackson drank this at some point in his life. 11.15 oz bottle, no date. Pours a clear straw with a 1/4 finger fizzy white head, fades quickly. Aroma has some light skunk, dirty grain, wet dishrag, and some Crisco. Not good. Flavor is more wet papery with a bit of corny grain and minimal lemon rinds. Thin body with moderate carbonation. This pretty much sucks.

if we are rating on catagory i stand by this rating. the beer is refreshing and has good body. there is a clean and mild fruity essence. there is a nice mouthfeel to the beer. the finish is decent. hey, it’s a lager need i say

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 TheLeadDog (101) - Kent, Washington, USA - MAY 16, 2007
Similar to Hieneken in taste but maybe a little sweeter. Pale yellow color with non-existant head. Vague apple and dry citris but not enough to give my rating above 2.3.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 StompBrockmore (316) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 12, 2007
330ml bottle - pours very pale yellow with a decent white head and some nice lacing. Smells of grassy hops and biscuits. Flavour is similar but quite thin, leaving very for the otherwise dry finish. Some sweet malts come through in the middle with notes of apple and some subtle citrus. Thin on the palette...not too much going on here. On the plus side, for a relatively generic Pale Lager, it’s very refreshing and I can see it making a decent lawn-cutting beer.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 swoopjones (3243) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 21, 2007
bottle @ Allen Street Hardware. Has a similar skunky taste to Heineken possibly due to the green bottle. Basically shitty

I hate you green bullet hops. I hate you.
Seriously, this one is sort of a mess. Clear fizzy yellow without much head. An aroma that tells you that at best it’s probably not worse than any other green bottled import. The flavor tells you that at best it’s worse than probably every other green bottled import. Skunky and grassy with a sharp bitter finish that tastes accidental and artificial.
Hooray, I’ve now rated a beer in New Zealand.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 thewrath (2) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 8, 2007 does not count
As nice light tasteof sweet malts with hints of an earthy tone. However the taste quickly leaves for no finish. I actually quite enjoyed the subtle tones of this beer. Nice light lager.
1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 garthicus (2006) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 21, 2007
Found Steinlager to be very ’Chemically’ it tasted bland and I could not finish the bottle, surely NZ can do better than this?
(I agree with the headache comment further through the reviews, same happened to me although I blamed it on something else!)
