Poured very clear gold with lots of mid-sized bubbles and a lasting frothy head. Some fizzy sherbet lemon on the initial aroma, but followed with a faint bile-like smell . On tasting starts a bit light and malty but quickly becomes sickly and sugary. Some metallic bitterness that seems a bit of a constant for southern hemisphere pale lagers makes its way into the brew as well. This one is probably best guzzled at Jade Stadium, watching the Crusaders destroy another hapless Super 14 team, so that your focus is on watching Dan Carter carve up the defence rather then how crep thus beer uz, eh bro.

Another beer that I used to drink alot growing up in hawaii. Stenies abundant in both six pack and large bottle types. Fairly tastey beer to drink while at beach and bangin chicks.

Doesn’t smell too good and is really just one more lager to add to the list for me, plus another country, which is always nice.

Bottled pretty good beer full flavor hits you and then you get this nice smooth taste, very refreshing and tasty.
My only beef is that it comes in 330ml bottles which is crap (the standard aussie stubby is 375ml), what is it with premium brands packaging there stuff in 330’s lets hope this trend dies.
Excellent beer and cheap for a premium beer $14.99 for a six pack.

Draught at Hanalei Gourmet in Kaua’i. Clear golden color with bubbly white head that didn’t leave much lace. Aroma is of subdued sour apple and bread dough. Dry on the tongue with apple and white bread flavors. Grainy light bitter finish. Very different than what I had expected.

Better than how I remember it. Ivory head that disipates instantly. Pale, light, but not weak or watery. Grass and faint mint maybe present in small quantites, but its as close to flavorless as can be, but not in a bad way, more in a melting glacier kind of way. Back when I was a kiwi teen "steinies" were for girls and yuppies. NZ used to transport beer to pubs in tankers, like gasoline, thus, quantity is valued over quality and steiny is designed for drinking in large quantity.

I’m sure this is better on tap, but I don’t know by how much. Green bottle was on the shelf a little too long to avoid the skunk, but after sorting that out, there’s very little to be had. See Aussie Macro---> one would do better elsewhere if you like grass.

Bottle. Poured light pale color with a large frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate grassy aroma. Light body with soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration. Worth trying once.
