IHCNavistar (93), Orinda, California, USA Oct 31, 2004 Bottle. Great hoppy aroma. Nice hop flavor, reminiscent of the aroma. Full flavored. Fair mouthfeel, though. Slightly thin due to the lack of fizz. Golden color visible evn through the green bottle. Mild carbonation, though, lacking the fizz that I like. Great lager, though. Defninitely a repeat buy for me. Mullo (102), Brisbane, Australia Oct 26, 2004 After drinking a Kokanee and a Bud, this was great. Lot of flavour. Great hops prescence. Fruity prescence. Slight yeastiness. Lovely smooth maltiness. Full bodied. Lasting (yet small) head. But maybe the previous two beers affected my judgement... JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 21, 2004 Pale golden colour with a thick white head. Strong aroma of grass and hay along with some pale malt. Smell also reminds me of bees-wax. No skunkiness, which is in itself notable, especially with these green bottles. Flavour is grassy with a nicely bitter finish. Interesting, and very different from every other pale lager I’ve ever had. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Oct 20, 2004 Canned(330ml). -found this one in Boras, Sweden. ordinary lager taste, slightly floral hopped aroma, bitter finish, refreshing jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Oct 18, 2004 Blonde coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of malt and some miniscule hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Clean and bubbly mouthful with the standard light lager flavour. Aftertaste clean and refined. Overall, not the worst beer I could imagine, but definitely not the best. I sampled this on draught in Melbourne, Australia. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Oct 1, 2004 750ml green bottle. Poured gold. Soap sud like head, huge bubbles, head fizzled out almost instantly. Grass/skunk aroma. Clean tasting, nice Saaz-like bitterness in the finish, but nothing groundbreaking. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2004 I admit I bought this because it reminded me of my heavy metal heroes from the 80’s and how they bragged about drinking Steinlager. This is definitely not the best lager I have ever had, nor is it the worst; however, I am pretty sure I won’t buy a six pack of this anytime soon. Long live rock. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Sep 14, 2004 Pours a pale yellow color. Smells is of grains and metal. Seems highly carbonated. Flavor has a little bit of skunk and metallic grainy taste. Not really too good.
