COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Steinlager® is a lager with a distinctive grassy note and clean crisp bitterness of green bullet hops. It is balanced with a dry, astringent finish.

Typical crisp, fizzy international lager with lots of herbal bite. I hate it. Huge frothy white head.

Pours a two-finger white head that lasts and leaves a good lace. Crystal clear golden color. Nose is grainy & hoppy. Medium carbonation and light bodied. Starts and finishes hoppy with a lingering aftertaste. Reminds me of the American macros without the skunky nose. $1.35 for a 330ml bottle from RSVP Liquors Portland, Me.

Fairly run-of-the-mile pale larger although to be fair the Kiwi offering is a little best than most Oz macro examples. Standard bright yellow-gold in the glass. Quite expressive nose but not in a totally attractive way; thick, syrupy malts (I think). A bit industrial. Faithfully replayed in the palate although finishes a touch drier than expected after a thick, quite sweet front and middle. Not sure I’d go back for seconds.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2006 When I first smelled this beer, I misjudged it, I thought it was a little bad. BUt, when I tasted it, it was nice, I could taste some hoppy flavors and the aroma is alittle honney.

750ml bottle from Morrisons. Pale gold. Aroma of grassy hop, biscuity malt, little bit of sulphur. Little bit carbonated in the mouth, chemical hop finish. Nothing special, I’m afraid.

Poured a pale golden color, with a nicer head then expected that left a nice lacing at the top of the glass. Decent aroma, hoppy and grassy. Taste was fairly clean and refreshing, with a sweetness in the beginning turning a little bitter at the end. Pretty good for a pale lager.

Ahh! Steinlager..haven’t tried this for years, wonder if it’s changed! Still looks good, white head stays and leaves a nice lace. Aroma is light, clean and grassy. Overall, a good clean refreshing lager, slghtly sweet with a subdued hoppiness. Pretty much as I remember it before I rated every beer I tried. Morissons 750ml.

Bottled, pasteurised, at Wetherspoons world of Beers promo. Wheat coloured wih fizzed head. A fairly decent lager to finish our tour of the Wetherspoons world. Light, hoppy, sparkling, crisp and clean, certainly better than many of the beers we tried.
