ಠַಠ (1375), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 20, 2004 Bottle. A skunkfarm, and no points to them for using a green bottle. Watery with a bit of malts. Other than NZ beers being difficult to find in the USA, there’s nothing remarkable here. Skip (206), Indiana, USA Jul 16, 2004 Once fairly common in the Midwest, and now hard to find. Dry and rather flat at first, but improving; still a bit light when all is said. jerohen (1602), Bussum, Netherlands Jul 3, 2004 Funny, everyone’s buying me beer these days, and at this moment i actually recieve even more beer than i can drink! Of course you won’t hear me complain, but it does make me a little bit concerned about my reputation... Anyway, this one was kindly provided by one of my best friends (thank you TT!). Clear golden coloured, small but lasting head, lots of carbonation. Tyical hoppy lager aroma, bit skunky. Watery flavour, some hops. No obvious sweetness, which is a good this in a pale lager like this. Bitter and dry finish. Nothing outstanding, but better than the average pale lager. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 1, 2004 Light yellow larger head and some lace. Skunky hop smell as soon as I poured my glass, Some malts, mostly sour, not a lot of other aromas. Bitter hops and tangy malts. Lagerish. Some corn. Fizzy palate, medium body and a finish of mellow malts. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 16, 2004 Crystal clear, yellow lager with a small, creamy, white head. Non-descript aroma with maybe a note of lime. The flavor is a bit corny, but decently balanced. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Crisp, bitter finish! mullet (798), Melbourne, Australia Jun 4, 2004 Not skunked which was a surprise. Grassy aroma and slightly sweet but not too bad. Toasty malt flavour and that very distinctive hop flavour (herbal, mossy) but lacking bitterness. Overall not too bad but a touch sweet. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 4, 2004 Bottle: Poured a golden colored beer with a standard head with no retention. Aroma is a mix of malts and skunk which doesn’t start too well. Taste is again dominated by that skunk taste (damn! People should know that green bottle are not made for imported beer) with a little bit of hops. Overall, this is another garbage macro lager. Won’t be seeking this again anytime soon. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 1, 2004 Limpid and carbonated golden body with a thin and quick-fading head. Light malty aroma with some herbal and grainy notes. Taste is mostly watery with some timid hoppy hints and a short bitter final. Another overrated boring macro lager...
