Bottle at Coco’s Outback in Amsterdam. How could I turn down a beer that labels itself as the "World’s best lager", and "New Zealand’s finest". Pours clear gold with no head except for faint bubbles. Smells like apple cider. Clean taste and mouthfeel but with one uggy aftertaste.

Pours pale golden with good white head. I recently had this one on tap and it didn’t have the awful skunky aroma as does the bottled version. Grassy aroma and flavor. Nice hop bitterness in the finish. Clean, crisp, and a shame more raters don’t have it on draft.

Steinlager’s an average beer...not overwhelming, not underwhelming. Nice skunky nose, with a smooth golden look. Head discipates to thin line after couple minutes and doesn’t always hold the flavour for extended periods. Nice earthy, grassy flavour with bitterness at the back of the tongue, goes down pretty smooth. Again, this is a well done, but average lager.

Medium-gold; very little head. Nice, forward grassy hops and a pleasant touch of skunk on the nose. Quite clean and refreshing, with a mathematical balance between hops, malt and grain. Medium-length, bitter finish. A traditional, by-the-book lager that goes down great.

Had this in China a couple days ago, so it was served warm for my pleasure. It really was not too bad, for a lager. Worse than Suntory, but better than Tsingtao.
