Dark golden in the glass, grainy smell. The beer starts malty and watery. Slightly sweet and highly drinkable. Slightly grainy, slightly crisp. Smooth and slightly sweet in the mainpart. The aftertaste is medium, no hints of bitterness, sweetish and grainy.

Can. Pours clear piss yellow with a large fizzy white head that dissipates leaving some lacing. Aroma is corny, grass, hay. Flavor is about the same. Far finish is a little metallic. Light body. Run of the mill lager with nothing really going for it.

Oakes (11786) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 29, 2012
Golden colour with a thin head. The aroma is grassy hop, and a strawlike malt note. Light grassy character, backed by light malts and just a bit of alcohol. Clean, if boring for a strong pale lager.

vipinvelp (1885) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - SEP 15, 2012
Golden yellow with white frosting foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is strong barley and alcohol. Taste is little sweet, again barley, little yeast. Aftertaste is lasting, slowly turning more and more bitter. (Velp 201209) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can in Iasi. Clear gold with stable but delicate head. Clean grainy aroma. Sweet, but not cloying in the palate Nutty malts, developed enough to finish clean and without discernible flaw--no harsh ML characteristic. Decent mochne.

500ml can. It is an useful beer but not bad. It has strong alcohol, some malt and hop aroma, lively carbonation hides the bad tastes. Drinkable and cheap.

I used to make my own beer in the U.K. using Tom Caxton kits. The smell of Stejar and the taste is the closest i have ever come to "home brew". I think it is the best bought beer i have ever tasted. A lot of major companies have tried over the years to push the alcohol to 7% in beer and failed dismally because the smell and taste of alcohol overwhelms the beer itself. (The best example being Kronenburg Cruz which was awful as it just tasted of the alcohol). Stejar Strong is the only beer that has got it just right. It smells "strong" but it tastes of beer as it should and not the increased alcohol. Ironically here in Romania where it is made,it is one of the cheapest beers on the market...LUCKY ME!
